A solo homer on the first pitch to Warrior lead-off hitter Jacob Rombouts set the tone of the game as Tehachapi defeated Shafter 24-4. Rombouts went on to hit for the cycle, logging a single, two doubles, a triple and a homer.

While Shafter scored a run in the first inning, the Warriors took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first, scored nine in the second, seven in the third, five in the fourth and one in the fifth for the victory.

Down 24-1, Shafter added three runs in the top of the sixth.

Hitting standouts include EJ Muro, who finished with a single and a double and scored twice; and Ryan Stack, who hit two for three including a single, a homer and scoring two runs.

Matt Halpin, Bennie Dunn and Rick Johnston each hit two for two and Matt Rombouts hit two for three with a double.

The Warriors finished with 21 hits and played an error-free game. Shafter logged four runs on seven hits and six errors.

JJ Holguin was the starting and winning pitcher. Holguin was relieved in the sixth by Michael Dunwoody.

Saturday in Lancaster's Jethawk Stadium, the Warriors, playing a charity baseball game hosted by Clear Channel, were defeated by Boron 6-4.

After two scoreless innings Boron put three runs across the plate in the bottom of the third.

The Warriors responded in the fourth, scoring three runs to tie the game. The rally started on Nathan McKinnon's base hit to send pinch runner Matt Rombouts to third, allowing him to score on an errant throw to the catcher.

Ryan Stack got a base hit to send McKinnon and Rick Johnston home to tie the game.

In the fifth inning, down 4-3, McKinnon's base hit allowed EJ Muro to score to tie the game again. Boron later scored two more runs for the victory

Standout hitters for the Warriors included McKinnon, hitting two for three with one RBI. Ryan Stack hit a single and drove in two and Matt Fort doubled in his only at bat. The Warriors finished with seven hits in the game. Boron logged nine hits.
