With one day to spare, Aspen Street Architects, Inc. filed construction documents with the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.
The architectural firm met the March 31 deadline set by the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District by filing the documents on March 30.
“What that means is that we are now in the pipeline for approval of the new hospital plans with the state of California,” said Raymond Hino, TVHD CEO.
David Yarbrough of Aspen Street also reported that the company had received verbal notification that the design criteria documents submitted to OSHPD in November has been approved. He said the stamped document should be “forthcoming.”
Yarbrough said costs for the Sierra Kings District Hospital came in at $222 per square foot for components at the factory.
“This is a great number and will go along way toward helping us keep the complete project price in the low $300 range,” Yarbrough said. “With all of the changes in cement and steel this year, this is really good news.”
