The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Acting Director, Alan McCuen announced the start of construction for the State Route 14 North Mojave Four Lane Project.
This $45 million dollar project will widen 10 miles of roadway from a two-lane conventional highway to a four lane divided expressway. Drainage for the entire length of the project will be improved by elevating the roadbed and bridges at Cache Creek Wash to eliminate future road closures due to flooding. A full grade-separated interchange and overpass will be constructed at State Route 14 and California City Boulevard intersection.
With the start of National Work Zone Awareness Week, Caltrans would like to remind the motoring public to “Slow for the Cone Zone” while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
For additional information, contact the public information office at the number listed above. For road information, please contact the Caltrans Highway Information Network at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).
