The Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi would like to invite the community of Tehachapi to the 20th Annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast. The Kiwanis Prayer Breakfast is always held on the National Day of Prayer, which will be Thursday, May 4.
The breakfast will start promptly at 7 a.m. and will again be held at St. Malachy’s McMullen Hall. This year’s featured speaker will be Dr. Chuck Wall, who is a published author, lecturer and motivational speaker in the fields of communication, stress, management, leadership, and most famously his “Random Acts of Kindness.”
Wall’s “Random Acts of Kindness” has received international attention and his work was recognized by the United States House of Representatives, which instituted an Act of Kindness Awareness Week.
Wall has been recognized with numerous awards, appeared on some 250 television and radio shows internationally, and in 2002 was selected by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors and Coca-Cola to be one of those to carry the Olympic torch as it traveled across America en route to Salt Lake City for the Winter Olympics.
Although he is blind Wall does not consider himself disabled, but that he merely must spend extra time dealing with one of life’s little nuisances.
Tickets this year will be $7 per person and can be obtained from any Kiwanis member or by contacting Mike Kelley at 822-3228 ext 11.
