Jim Harvey went to his heavenly Father on April 1.

Jim touched many lives with his faithful service to God. For 17 years he was a Boy Scout leader. He worked with Detention Ministry and taught CCD. He was a Eucharist Minister at St. Malachy Church and a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
Jim retired from the FAA after 32 years as an engineer and was an Air Force veteran. He was an avid runner and belonged to several running clubs.

Jim was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 47 years; his nine children, Barbara Rubiano of Lancaster; Susan Roberts of Oklahoma; Mike Harvey of Lancaster; Monica Harvey of Sacramento; Mark Harvey of Washington; Jean Harvey of Walnut Creek; Karen Sinderson of Redding; Greg Harvey of Tehachapi; and Daniel Harvey of Irvine; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His two sisters, Robyn Zaske and Peggy Oakshott, also survive him.
Rosary was recited on Tuesday, April
4, and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 5, at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Father Joel Davadilla officiated at the service. Internment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Knights of Columbus World Youth Day 2008.

Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
