Starting this fall California State University, Bakersfield’s Antelope Valley campus will offer the Child, Adolescent and Family Studies program, or CAFS as it is known. Students will be able to earn their bachelor’s degree in child, adolescent and family studies in the two-year program having completed all prerequisites prior to admittance.
Those interested are invited to attend a free information session Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the CSUB Antelope Valley campus, located at 43909 30th St. West, Lancaster, room 119.
“There is a need for this program in the Antelope Valley,” said Christie Howell, CSUB program director for CAFS. Howell said previous information sessions have generated considerable interest.
The CAFS program is designed for individuals interested in careers including elementary and preschool education, daycare center directors, or social services. The courses will be held via ITV, online and through arranged class meetings, Howell added. The program aims to have every course offered online at least once within a two-year cycle.
For more information, call Howell at (661) 654-3494 or send e-mail to chowell@csub.edu/ or call Katherine Quesada, CSUB Antelope Valley academic advisor, at (661) 952-5010.
