Kandi Smith of the Tehachapi Flower Shop provided a wonderful and fun demonstration on floral arranging at the Tehachapi Rose and Garden Society meeting on April 9.
Smith provided beautiful spring flowers consisting of ranunculus, roses, delphiniums, Canterbury bells, freesias, carnations and daisies as well as greenery of ferns and myrtle for the workshop where 13 of the attendees each created a European basket.
The flowers were arranged in the basket as if they were just picked in the garden and laid in a carrying basket. A basket such as this which would normally sell for around $35 and was a real bargain for the small fee charged for the materials.
With Smith's expertise and attentive instructions, she made the workshop fun and the novice florists left with a colorful floral table setting for Easter.
