The Bible calls Christians the "body of Christ" on earth. We are to work together, like the parts of a human body, to accomplish the tasks our Lord gives us.
Our body has feet to stand on, ears to hear and hands to hold things. If we tried to walk on our ears or hold things with our feet, it would be much more difficult.
Christians all over the earth today have many different abilities. There are people gifted in sharing the faith, people who can sing beautiful songs and people who have the ability to offer comfort to the hurting.
It is a good thing that God did not make us all with identical interests and talents. It would not work well if all Christians wanted to teach the third- grade Sunday school class or if we all felt like we should be the preacher.
God has made us into a team to work together and use our various abilities to serve Him. As we each use our God-given talents, we will all have the common purpose of sharing God's love and witnessing our faith in everything we do.
Like any team we celebrate each other's victories and grieve each other's loses. We praise God when He blesses our fellow Christians and we help each other when we are going through a problem.
We know that Christians don't always agree on every doctrine or religious practice. But we are still part of God's team which is working to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a needy world.
God has given each of us blessings and abilities with which we can serve Him. We pray that we will use these gifts to be part of the Christian team which is bringing people to Christ and serving in His kingdom.
