TVWC Youth Wrestling Sign-ups
The Central Valley Wrestling Association has expanded their ranks with the inclusion of a new elementary level program in the Tehachapi area.
Former talented THS wrestlers and current coaches Charlie Walz, Curtis Nelson, and Ben Sheehan will be holding practices for any and all interested families wishing to get their kids involved in wrestling.
The elementary program welcomes all children kindergarten through fifth grade between 35 and 135 pounds. The junior high program will consist of sixth to eighth graders in a wide array of weight classes.
Interested parents can contact Coach Charlie Walz at 714-904-6328. Preliminary practices for the elementary-level kids will be this Monday and Thursday from 6pm-7:30pm. Junior High wrestlers will have practice this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:45pm-5pm. All practices are held in the junior high wrestling room at Jacobsen Middle School.
The Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club will take on opponents from all over the state, including hosting a state-wide tournament in Tehachapi on Dec-7.
Warrior Golf wins fifth mini-tourney
With only the SSL league championship to be played, the THS Girls Golf team posted their fifth tournament victory out of six competitions last week at the North Kern Golf Course. The Lady Warriors cinched first place honors and will enter the area finals as the SSL champion. All of the Lady Warriors posted an 18 hole score, with Tarah Steinbach 98, Ashley Carter 106, Tina Cronauer 109, Hailey Phillips 113, Lisa Castillo, 118 and Charlcie Baker 131 rounding out the field.
Mountain Golf will have their final regular season tee-off this Wednesday at 11am in the SSL championships.
