Christian Life Assembly has much to celebrate these days with the opening of its newly redesigned Kid's Building Sunday. The new and improved Kid's Building once served as a preschool. It will now house the children's ministry and programs.

The fun and energetic decor is welcoming and exciting. Upon stepping into the foyer of the Kid's Building, visitors instantly get the feeling they are entering an amusement park.

"We worked with Wacky World Studios out of Florida who does design work all over America, including Busch Gardens," said Misty Caudle, spiritual growth director. "They designed all the vinyl wall coverings in the building."

"Welcome to the Clubhouse" reads the first wall covering, which reaches floor to ceiling in an eye-popping, cartoon motif. Upon entering the main building, a lemonade stand with a state-of-theaart check-in system is found for the safety of the children.

The project began in April with planning and theme choice.

"From June to September, dozens of volunteers worked 12 Saturdays on demo, clean-up, painting, plumbing and building signs, the stage and the check-in lemonade stand," Caudle said.

In addition to time, CLA members donated sinks, granite, faucets, lumber, fabric and trash dumping fees. Henry's Home For Less donated the paint.

"I think kids will really like it," said Caudle's son, Paxton, 8.

A series of smaller classrooms are found along both sides of the main room, which will serve for different functions. The classrooms have new carpet, paint, cabinets and sinks.

"I'm very excited to see what's happening here," said Children's Pastor Kerry Taylor.

CLA offers kids programs during both services on Sunday mornings at 9 and 10:30 a.m., as well as kids programs for boys and girls on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. through its Girl's Ministry and Royal Rangers.

Currently, 200 kids from nursery to sixth grade are ministered to each week at Christian Life Assembly.

"Through the redesign, we now have space for 500 kids a week," said Caudle.

"It's awesome," said Allie Taylor, 11. "It looks really good."
