Tehachapi Mountain Trails Association proudly presents the 2nd Annual Tehachapi Mountain Bike BrewFondo, an all age’s multi-surface mountain bike ride featuring gravel and paved roads as well as the great single track of the TMTA/Lehigh Trails area. The event starts and ends at Phillip Marx Central Park in Tehachapi.
There are four course lengths to choose from. All courses are a combination of gravel roads; pavement and intermediate-level single track trails in the Lehigh Trails area — the very same trails that hosted the SoCal National Interscholastic Cycling Association Mountain Bike Championships. The trails are primarily pristine single track with breathtaking views of Tehachapi Valley and surrounding mountains.
The ride begins at 9 a.m. and will be followed by barbecue and beverages — served by TMTA volunteers. Each rider will receive a custom-designed T-shirt, a finisher’s medallion, a swag bag chock full of goodies, and a bratwurst lunch and beverage. Onsite bike vendors, providing bike maintenance and selling bike parts and apparel, will join us in the park. A kids (0 to 5 year old) balance bike race is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., and is hosted by Cycle and Go Bike Shop.
Cheers to Charity is also hosting a home brew beer tasting. Sixteen area home brewers will compete for bragging rights during the 2nd Annual Cheers to Charity Home Brew Edition event. Offerings include IPAs, lagers, porters and more. Everyone, 21 or older, is welcome to attend the home brew event — no need to ride the trails. Tickets are $25 in advance at Eventbrite.com or $30 at the door.
Live music and food vendors will round out a fun fall day in the park. It’s going to be a Brew-Ha-ha great time!
