Train show 1

No matter the size, and no matter the gauge, a model railroader will love it. This "Carry it With You" layout is in Z gauge, also known by some modelers as TDS gauge (Too Darn Small). It was originally built by modeler Robert Mazzi and upon his death, cared for and displayed for many years by his widow, Laurene. Tehachapi Modeler Marlan Woodside purchased it and is keeping alive the layout designed and built by Robert Mazzi in 1986.

Trains have been traditional gifts for young and old alike. The Tehachapi Loop Railroad Club would like to share its toys with all of you at their Summer Model Train Show to be held Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Listen to the whistles, bells, huffing and chuffing as you watch the operating layouts in Large Scale, Lionel, HO and N Modules. It's a fun time for the public as well as the modelers. There will also be a promotions and a table featuring gift items for the rail fans in your family: hats, shirts, mugs, pins, patches and more. There will also be a vendor selling train items.

The Lancaster North Western Garden Railroad Club will be joining us with their “G” Gauge layout. The Orange County Ngineers will be joining us with their N scale layout. We will also have a bake sale.

The show will be held at the Aspen Builders Activity Center of the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District at 410 W. D St., off of Mill Street. As always, admission will be free. This is wonderful fun for all ages and all the railroaders are anxious to share their passion with everyone.

We will have a raffle for a Thomas the Tank Engine gift basket and a six-month membership.
