As an Eagle project, Mark Reuter of Tehachapi's Troop 3 erected a sign for Mountain Bible Church this past fall.
The dedication ceremony was held on Nov. 4 and was attended by Boy Scouts of Troops 3, 136 and 139, members of Mountain Bible Church and members of the Reuter family.
The project was started a year ago with a request to the Southern Sierra Council to approve it as an Eagle leadership project.
Over the year, Reuter coordinated the planning of the sign installation with the church, the City of Tehachapi, Prime Signs who built the sign, Triangle Rock and Dinnerville Trucking, surveyor Bob Hogue, and cement mason John Gubler.
Reuter also orchestrated a spaghetti lunch fundraiser sponsored by host Mountain Bible Church with Troop 3's support.
Other fundraising included generous donations from members of the Mountain Bible Church and donations of time, energy, talent and resources of those that participated in the project.
Reuter and his parents would like to extend many thanks to all for their generous donations.
The actual construction of the project took about a month with the pouring of cement, installation of the plaques and benches and, finally the installation of the sign. Dedication plaques were for Don Jones, who was a devoted member of Mountain Bible Church, and Stephen Shy, also a member of the church and an Eagle Scout.
As a result, Reuter passed his Eagle Scout rank board of review on Dec. 11.
