Main Street Tehachapi has announced that its Summer Wine and Beer Walk, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 14, will be rescheduled to date to be announce in the fall.
President Lesa Cyr said the decision was made so that there will be no conflict with Tehachapi’s Relay for Life which is being held the same weekend.
“Our wine walk is very popular and Relay for Life is very popular,” Cyr said. “And we don’t want anyone in the community to feel conflicted. The fall is a very nice time to be in downtown Tehachapi and we know our event will be successful then without creating any problems for another organization.”
In the meantime, she noted, there will be three other great events in downtown Tehachapi – the Tehachapi Food & Wine Festival set for Saturday, Aug. 4, the Tehachapi Mountain Festival on Aug. 17-18 and Main Street Tehachapi’s Oktoberfest in the Mountains on Saturday, Sept. 8.
Also, she added, Main Street Tehachapi’s Farmers Market continues downtown in Railroad Park from 4 to 7 p.m. each Thursday through Aug. 16. And the Concerts in the Park sponsored by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District will be held at Philip Marx Central Park beginning at 2 p.m. on July 8, 15, 22 and 29.
There is plenty going on in downtown Tehachapi this summer and we encourage everyone to support all of these events and Relay for Life, she noted.
Cyr said a new date for Main Street’s Wine Walk will be announced soon. Ticket holders who are unable to attend the new date will be offered a refund and may contact the Main Street office at 822-6519.
