'Sleeping Beauty' to open March 28 at Beekay

What happens when a king and queen dream of having a child? Three good fairies grant them their wish! What happens when one person is not invited to the celebration when their dream comes true? Come see "Sleeping Beauty" to find out!

Tehachapi Community Theater Juniors will present Michele L. Vacca's "Sleeping Beauty," based on the famous Perrault romance, at the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St., Tehachapi. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on the Fridays and Saturdays of March 28 and 29, April 4 and 5, and April 11 and 12. Sunday matinees will be held at 2 p.m. on April 6 and 13.

Monica Nadon directs the play with assistance from Thaer Irvin. The cast includes a talented group of youngsters, many who have graced the TCT stage before: Lily Bonham, Mia Bonham, Sophia Bonham, Kasey Brockelsby, Hannah Clare, Ava Daniels, Madisyn Davenport, Diana Partridge, Ricky Peregrina, Lanie Ringle, Emily Sheridan, Anika Valentino and Amanda Webster. Newcomers to a T.C.T. production are: Drew Bauer, Erin Clare, Gabrielle Kreager, Cali Mason, Connor Mathis, Elizabeth Partridge, Emily Searles and Dmitri Valentino.

"The actors are having a great time in rehearsal," said Irvin, assistant director.

"They take direction very well. The audience is going to thoroughly enjoy this play."

Van Roberts brings his special touch to the set, while Susan Hill works her magic painting it. Doug Jockinsen has produced fun props for the actors and Jennifer Daniels heads up the spectacular costumes.
