What do you do in case of fire, earthquake or even a train wreck with a hazardous spill? Answers will be covered in an Emergency Preparedness class at the Senior Center this Friday, Aug. 23.
The Independent Living Center of Kern County is teaching this vital course from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in a two and a half hour class and there is no charge. You can sign up in the lobby of the Center or call 325-1063 to reserve your spot. Seating is limited. There is a lunch break and the Center lunch program serves at 11:30 a.m. for a slight fee but you must call at least a day ahead to Dianne at 822-6255.
Attendees also receive a free "Go Kit" valued at $60 which contains emergency supplies, a first aid kit, a whistle and other vital articles and information.
