Sheridan's Boutique Home Consignment store, located at 108 W. Tehachapi Blvd., hosted an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on the afternoon of Oct. 10.

Many from the community, including Chamber of Commerce members, were on hand as Virginia Sheridan, at the scissors, welcomed many. She is proudly flanked by Bill Lee, her husband, and Corrina Sheridan, daughter and granddaughter Alexandria Sheridan-Daniels. Ryan Rush, from Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner's office, was also on hand, presenting Sheridan with a congratulatory certificate.

"We are proud to be able to offer antiques and other home furnishings that are ready to put into your home," Virginia said.

"This is wonderful, but now I have to decide what to put on consignment here so I can buy a couple of the things from you," Sheree Fishgold was overheard saying with glee as she eyed a tall amber vase.

"If you want more information on consigning items or purchasing any, please call 822-4252 or stop by our store any day other than Tues. and Wed. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.," Virginia said.
