Free electronics recycling day to benefit Tehachapi Mountains Search and Rescue

Alianza Recycling and Recovery, LLC, will host a free electronics recycling day on Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Golden Hills Community Services District building, 21415 Reeves St.

Proceeds from the donations will benefit Tehachapi Mountains Search and Rescue. Alianza collects revenue once the items are disassembled sent off for recycling, so money gained from items collected on Saturday will go directly to TMSAR.

Accepted items include:

• Television sets
• Flat screens
• Computers
• Monitors
• VCRs and DVDs
• Cable boxes
• Laptops
• Cell phones
• Nintendo/Sony/Xbox
• Camera equipment
• Car batteries
• Rechargeable batteries
• Household appliances
• Medical equipment
• Desktop printers
• Industrial copiers

Items like light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and alkaline batteries are not accepted.
