On Friday, April 4, from 5 to 8 p.m., Tehachapi Treasure Trove, located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd., will again celebrate our First Friday Fun Fest. Join us for food, champagne and wine.
In addition, the Treasure Trove has recently added collectables, antiques, and more fun stuff to our extensive line of art and craft supplies, artist services, local arts, handcrafts, jewelry, gift items and more. Stop by and see our collection of uncommonly eclectic and unusually unique stuff.
Additional art work by Treasure Trove artists will be on display from 4 to 7 at Legal Document Services located at 102 S. Robinson St. They will be celebrating their grand opening on First Friday with Hors d'oeuvres, wine and music.
The Treasure Trove's featured artist for April will be Juanita Niemeyer. Niemeyer is an experienced artist who has taught and worked in a variety of mediums including, acrylics, oil, pastels, ceramics, glass and more. Come see her varied and beautiful work.
Hired by Popular Ceramic Magazine and other publications, Niemeyer has written numerous "how to" articles. For 11 years had a regular column called "Ask me a Question." She has written several books on oil painting, watercolor, ceramics and more. Her art work has been represented by galleries in England, the Philippines and throughout the United States. She was also commissioned by Marriott Hotels to paint 287 sculptured 4' by 5' florals.
Wednesday mornings at the Treasure Trove, Niemeyer is available to answer question and assist artists with their projects. The sessions are called "Ask Juanita" and are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and cost $10. She also has classes scheduled in bisque painting and creating a Children's Easter Basket and teaches multi session classes in oils and acrylics.
