A delay on this year's Mr. Warrior pageant didn't put a damper on the spirits of the participants and spectators, with a full audience and 27 seniors participating on Monday, March 11.

The pageant was originally scheduled for March 8 but was postponed due to snow closing schools that day.

At the end of a night full of entertainment, Joseph Singer was chosen as this year's Mr. Warrior. He wowed the judges with his enthusiasm and talent. Singer played the piano during the talent portion of the contest, but shined even brighter in the group categories.

The Mr. Warrior pageant is a play off of your typical beauty pageant, focused on the categories of talent, poise, physical fitness, self-expression, a partner dance, and a mom/son dance.

This marked the fifth consecutive year that Tehachapi High School hosted a Mr. Warrior pageant. This year featured a big turn out by the students, as 27 seniors participanted in the pageant.

Contestants were Cesar Garcia, Keegan Zehr, John Canizo, Karter Rohrer, Lucas Jochem, Jorge Garcia, Josh Lara, Nick Tanaka, Hunter Kenyon, Brandon Chao, Bobby Howell, Austin Riddle, Jonathon Supple, Bailey Thompson, Chris Perez, Kevin Rooney, Andy Caldwell, Kyle Parks, Jeremy Duff, Cameron Gamble, Dalton Scaggs, Ryan Flick, Ian McCool, Joseph Singer, Tanner Muro, Cole Rynders and Lucas Costa. They all competed for the grand prize which was two tickets to prom, a prom picture package from Jackie Wood photography, a corsage from Tehachapi Flower Shop and an iTunes gift card.
