The Tehachapi Heritage League is sponsoring its first field trip of the fall season on Sunday, Oct. 6.
The participants will car pool to the Kern Valley Museum and Native American Center in Kernville. Participants are asked to meet in front of the Tehachapi Museum, 310 S. Green St., at 8:30 a.m. The group will travel to Kernville via the Lion's trail route. This is a very curvy road and may not be suitable for all drivers, in which case Highway 178 is recommended.
The tentative schedule is to tour the museum from 10:15 a.m. until noon; eat lunch and socialize from noon until 1:30 p.m. We should then be at the Native American Center at 1:30 p.m. and leaving at 2:30 p.m.
You may bring a lunch, as there is a nice place to eat along the Kern River. There is also a nice restaurant close by for those who prefer to eat inside.
There is no admission charge, but donations are gladly accepted. Reservations are required by Oct. 3. Call the Museum during museum hours, 822-8152, or for more information, call Harold at 823-8038.
