Abernathy to hold first annual 'Fall Carnival'

A lot more than instructional learning is happening during Abernathy Collegiate Charter Schools inaugural shool year.

The school will kick off several after-school events throughout the year, starting with its first annual "Fall Carnival" on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 711 Anita Drive, agriculture entrance.

There will be a haunted house, boxtop raffle, costume contest, Nerf-gun showdown, basketball in the parking lot, face painting, a cake walk, a 50/50 raffle for parents and more, including catering by Ben and Jerry's.

Tickets will go on sale at the school starting at 3:45 p.m. Tickets are .25 cents each or five tickets for a dollar.
