Are you a Summit Singer, a former Summit Singer, or perhaps a wannabe Summit Singer?
If so, plan to attend the annual "back to work" potluck on Saturday, Aug. 24, and plan to start practice on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
The potluck will be at 1 p.m. at the Stone residence, 21054 Schout Road. No RSVPs are required and you can bring any potluck dish you want. Dishes and silverware are provided, as well as lemonade and water.
Practice is on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Methodist church on the corner of Backes Road and Schout Road. New singers are urged to attend and join the group.
Thanks in part to a grant from the Arts Council of Kern County, dues for this season have been reduced, which the Summit Singers hope will be an incentive for more singers to come out.
Director Scott Walter has already outlined the program for the Christmas program. We look forward to another great year of singing and hope we can bring many new singers to the group. We particularly need tenor and bass singers but also welcome sopranos and altos.
