Tehachapi Mountain Trails Association to present ‘Better Living Through Trails’

 On Friday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. the Tehachapi Mountain Trails Association’s, Trail Care Crew will be presenting “Better Living Through Trails” in the Golden Hills Community Services District meeting room.

The address is 21415 Reeves Street.

After International Mountain Bicycling Association’s (IMBA) “Better Living Through Trails” presentation they plan to begin the discussion of creating a cohesive greater Tehachapi area trails plan; Confirmed so far from Kern County supervisor Scrivner’s office, Kern County Parks, possibly Kern County Roads, Golden Hills CSD, Stallion Springs CSD, Alpine Forest Board, possibly Bear Valley CSD, City of Tehachapi, Tehachapi Parks Dept., and the National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program.

 The IMBA Trail Care Crew will be putting on their trail skills college the next day, Nov. 19, in the same meeting room at 9 a.m. with the hands on portion to take place in Tehachapi Mountain Park that afternoon.

    The news that the Pahnamid Wind Energy project has been withdrawn from the County Planning Office is good news to most of us up here on the mountain. After spending several million dollars between the City of Tehachapi’s General Plan, the County’s Specific Plan, and the Kern Council of Government’s “Blueprint,” it would be foolish to start making zoning changes at the first opportunity.
