The public safety report is based upon our request to have information from the various agencies each weekday morning, covering the period since our last contact. We appreciate those agencies that are helping us bring you the News@Noon.

Tehachapi Police Department:

Dec. 19, 2013

4 a.m. Burglary, inhabited, on Brett Avenue. Subjects attempted entry into the home ten minutes ago. Disposition: Unable to locate.

8:17 a.m. Trespassing at hotel on West Tehachahpi Boulevard. A male subject who is not a guest is loitering at the inn and asking the manager for a certain guest who is not checked in. Disposition: Arrest made, subject under the influence.

8:50 a.m. Burglary, inhabited, on White Oak Drive. Window was taken off a vehicle, dents were made. Incident occurred sometime in the last two days. Disposition: Report taken.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Dec. 18, 2013

7 a.m. Theft of mail on North Lower Valley Road. Mail was tampered with. Reporting party does not want to file a report, only log and note. Disposition: Information only.

12:08 p.m. Burglary report on Bear Valley Road. Stolen equipment valued at about $400. Disposition: Report taken.

2:21 p.m. Theft of mail on Jacaranda Drive. Mail was stolen from the box. Reporting party was expecting CDs and books valued at about $150. Disposition: Report taken.

8:52 p.m. Shots fired/heard on Capot Court. Disposition: Unable to locate.

Dec. 19, 2013

8:58 a.m. Theft of mail on Columbia Way. Reporting party was expecting a package with contents valued at about $15. Disposition: Report taken.

12:27 p.m. Theft of mail reported at Bear Valley Police Department. Disposition: Report taken.

3:30 p.m. Theft of mail on Meadow Lakes Drive. Package was stolen from reporting party's mailbox, valued at about $40. Package was stolen after Thanksgiving. Disposition: Report taken.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Between Dec. 18 and the morning of Dec. 20, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 39 incidents, including a burglary investigation on Ridgeway Drive in Golden Hills, and two investigations into fraud using personal info, one reported at the substation and the other on Madre Street in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the evening.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 55. East wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
