The latest news - James Dale Wilson, 56, who was arrested in Bear Valley Springs on Dec. 29, 2013, on charges including attempted murder, will have a pre-preliminary hearing today at the Kern County Superior Court in Mojave at 11 a.m. We will have more information on his hearing as it becomes available.

Tehachapi Police Department:

Jan. 6, 2014

11:04 a.m. Occurred on East "I" St. Reporting person's tires were slashed at Burger King 620 West Tehachapi Blvd. last night approximately at 1:30. Disposition: Report Taken.

6:07 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Cherry Lane. Female attempting to leave her apartment and loose black pit bull dog is acting vicious and barking. dog poss lives in the southeast corner of the complex. Disposition: Unable to Locate.

 

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Jan. 6, 2014

5:28 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred at Bear Valley Road/San Juan Drive. Report of a barking dog on Bear Valley Road between San Juan and Black gold. Disposition: Quiet on Departure.

8:30 a.m. Burglary report. Occurred on Shoreline Court. Someone attempted to break into reporting parties home via the window, sometime over the week-end. The blinds were slightly out of place and the window was slightly pried open. Entry does not appeared to have been made. Disposition: Report Taken.

5:22 p.m. Theft of mail. Occurred on Caddy Lane. Mail theft from Jamaica Dunes mail boxes, reporting party was expecting socks from amazon, approximate lost $15.00. Disposition: Report Taken.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Jan. 6 and the morning of Jan. 7, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 31 incidents, including two petty theft investigations, and a criminal threats investigation in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

• The City Council scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center has been canceled. The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 22.

• The Bear Valley Springs Community Services District is hosting its monthly board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. at the CSD on 28999 South Lower Valley Road.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission's next meeting is Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center on 300 S. Robinson St.
