The latest news - A 21-year-old woman was seriously injured in a car accident that occurred on Highway 58 near the Sand Canyon bridge around 9 a.m. this morning. According to CHP Officer Darlena Dotson, a silver Toyota Tacoma was heading eastbound at an unknown rate of speed when the driver traveled into the center divider, overcorrected, and flipped the vehicle. The 21-year-old woman passenger sustained major injuries and was air lifted to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CHP says. The other occupants of the vehicle, including the 20-year-old male driver, 18-year-old female passenger, and a four-month-old child were all transported to KMC by ground. The extent of their injuries are unknown. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Feb. 13, 2014

8:46 a.m. Suspicious circumstances. Reporting person has been followed since Rosamond. Reporting person would like officer contact. Disposition: Warning (Cite/Verbal).

9:05 p.m. Occurred on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Service Class: BUSN. Disposition: No further action required. Fire handle.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Feb. 13, 2014

7:23 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Columbia Way. Barking dogs 2 doors down, ongoing problem.  Make contact with the reporting person to the front of his residence.  Dogs are located 2 houses southeast of reporting person. Disposition: Unable to locate.

7:36 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Officer initiated activity at Bear Valley Road and San Juan Drive. Assist subject attempting to return a loose dog.  Disposition: Assignment completed.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Feb. 12 and the morning of Feb. 13, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 21 incidents, including a petty theft investigation on Lakeside Road, a grand theft investigation in Golden Hills, and a petty theft investigation on Woodford Tehachapi Road.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

• Main Street Tehachapi's 8th annual Valentine Wine and Chocolate Event is slated for Saturday, Feb. 15 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the event.

• Ernest Troost, award-winning singer-songwriter is playing at Fiddlers Crossing on Saturday, Feb. 22, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.

• The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District is meeting Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the district's headquarters, 490 West "D" St.

• The Tehachapi Cummings County Water District is meeting Wednesday, Feb 19. 4 p.m. at 22901 Banducci Rd.

• The Golden Hills Community Services Distrct's next board meeting is slated for Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the district's headquarters, 21415 Reeves St.
