Tehachapi Police Department:

Feb. 7, 2014

11:28 a.m. Vandalism against person or property of another. Officer initiated activity at Warrior Park, Clasico Drive. Disposition: Report taken.

4:49 p.m. Defrauding an innkeeper. Occurred at Nails 2002 on Tucker Road. Customer was in the shop at about 3:15 a.m. and left without paying. Disposition: Report taken.

Feb. 8, 2014

9:37 a.m. Property damage. Occurred at Love's Truck Stop on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Another vehicle in the area had scratched hers/ not witnessed, truck fueling area to the left, 18 wheeler dark blue Peterbuilt. Disposition: Report taken.

3:01 p.m. Threats of death/bodily injury. Occurred on South Davis Street. Reporting person is receiving threats online from. Disposition: Advised.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Feb. 7, 2014

10:02 a.m. Out of control juvenile. Occurred on Breech Court. Disposition: No further action required.

21:08 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Cumberland Road. Barking dog residence for the last 2 hours. Disposition: No further action required.

Feb. 8, 2014

5:31 p.m. Animal call. Occurred on Golfari Court. Reporting person advised he located a dead bird unknown if it was killed or died naturally.  Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Feb. 7 and the morning of Feb. 10, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 49 incidents, including burglary investigation on Cummings Valley Road, a theft investigation on Santa Lucia Street, and an assault with a deadly weapon on South Street.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

Today: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 46 by 5pm. Windy, with a northwest wind 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind 5 to 15 mph.

UPCOMING EVENTS

• "Tase the Art" at The Art Studio is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The event is free.

• Main Street Tehachapi's 8th annual Valentine Wine and Chocolate Event is slated for Saturday, Feb. 15 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the event.

• Ernest Troost, award-winning singer-songwriter is playing at Fiddlers Crossing on Saturday, Feb. 22, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission's next meeting slated for Monday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. has been cancelled due to a lack of agenda items.

• Tehachapi Unified School District is meeting on Tuesday, Feb 11, at 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center, 300 St. Robinson St.

• The Bear Valley Springs CSD board is meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the district's headquarters, 28999 S. Lower Valley Road.
