Tehachapi Police Department:

Oct. 7, 2013

7:20 a.m. Abandoned vehicle occurred at Valley Boulevard and Beech Street. Grey van appeared abandoned in the right turn lane, no driver in the vehicle. Disposition: Report taken.

8:01 a.m. Extra patrol, at Tompkins Elementary Disposition: Checks OK.

8:42 a.m. Stolen vehicle occurred on Cherry Lane. Gray van last seen yesterday approximately 5 p.m. Possibly the abandoned vehicle found this morning. Disposition: Report taken. NOTE: This was the vehicle that was stored as a result of the 7:20 a.m. incident.

9:23 a.m. Extra patrol at Monroe High School. Disposition: Checks OK.

10:03 a.m. Follow up occurred on Oakwood Street. Reporting party possibly sees stolen property on his neighbor's property. Disposition: Situation resolved.

10:29 a.m. Extra patrol at Jacobsen Middle School. Disposition: Checks OK.

1:56 p.m. Missing Juvenile occurred on Black Oak Drive. White male, unknown clothing, 5'7", blond hair, hazel eyes, last seen Friday morning. Disposition: Report taken.

2:57 p.m. Extra patrol at Tompkins Elementary. Disposition: Assignment completed.

5:19 p.m. Police-911 call occurred on Griffin Street. Female was suicidal. Disposition: Turned over to other agency.

5:25 p.m. Counter at Police Department. Reporting party requested help in getting an EPO.  Baby's daddy is threatening to take child and steal vehicle while she sleeps. Disposition: Assignment completed.

10:06 p.m. Violation of court order reported on North Mill Street. subject  violating order via email and voice calling. Disposition: Arrest made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Oct. 6, 2013

9:31 a.m. Animal call occurred on Fox Ridge Court. Wild boars. Disposition: Advised.

12:10 p.m. Suspicious vehicle on Paramount Drive. At the water tank, there wss a dark-colored sedan that had been parked for the last 30 minutes. One subject seen in the vehicle waving arms around. Vehicle had a blue sticker in the driver’s lower side corner of the window. Disposition: Checks OK.

9:09 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite occurred on Bear Valley Road. The dog had been barking on-going for the last 2 weeks, owners were not home. Reporting party has left multiple notes advising owners of situation with no results.  Disposition: Advised.

Oct. 7, 2013

8:30 a.m. Extra patrol Cummings Valley Elementary. Disposition: Checks OK.

8:41 a.m. Sex registrant occurred at Bear Valley Police Department on Bear Valley Road. AB 290 registrant. Disposition: Assignment completed.

10:54 a.m. Vicious barking bite, occurred on Jacaranda Drive. Continuous dog barking. Disposition: Assignment completed.

8:49 p.m. Petty theft report  occurred on Serra Place. Mail theft. Disposition: Report taken.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Officers responded to 14 incidents between Oct. 7 and the morning of Oct. 8.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon:  Sunny, with a high near 69. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday morning, with gusting winds and lows reaching the mid-30s and highs not peaking above 65 the rest of the week.

• The next Airport Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St. The commissioners will discuss a potential commercial enterprise and an expansion on the north side. Read the full agenda HERE.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Tehachapi Unified School District will meet at 6 p.m. at Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.

• The regular meeting of the Bear Valley Community Services District board of directors will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, 6 p.m., at the CSD building, 28999 S. Lower Valley Road.

Volleyball – Varsity/Jayvee/Frosh-Soph vs. East High at home on Tuesday, Oct.8, and vs. Highland at home on Thursday, Oct.10. Matches start at 6:30 p.m. (varsity), 5 p.m. (jayvee) and 4 p.m. (frosh-soph).
