Tehachapi Police Department:

Oct. 3, 2013

8:26 a.m. Hit and run with property damage on North Mill Street. Vehicle was sideswiped sometime during the evening. Disposition: Report taken.

3:08 p.m. Burglary report taken on Oakwood Street. Reporting party wants to report a cell phone stolen from his father-in-law's house on Elm Street. Disposition: No criminal activity.

3:17 p.m. Burglary report on Oakwood Street. Chainsaw apparently taken from back yard, some time between yesterday and now. Disposition: Report taken.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Oct. 3, 2013

12:06 p.m. Reckless driving on highway. Black Chevrolet Suburban seen weaving in and out of traffic. Disposition: Turned over.

2:38 p.m. Parked vehicle at school on Bear Valley Road. Disposition: Arrest made.

3:24 p.m. Fire at Sand Canyon dump on Tehachapi Boulevard/Sand Canyon Drive. Disposition: Turned over.

4:10 p.m. Fire at wind farm. Disposition: Turned over.

9:42 p.m. Driving under the influence at Bear Valley Road/North Frontage Road. Info received from CHP that a black four-door vehicle came through the Bear Valley gate about an hour ago. Disposition: Unable to locate.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Officers responded to 36 incidents between Oct. 2 and 4.

Oct. 2

9:19 a.m. Petty theft from an inhabited dwelling on San Gabriel Drive, Golden Hills.

12:55 p.m. Drunk in public on Mini Court, Golden Hills.

2:30 p.m. Child endangerment call on Sand Canyon Road, Sand Canyon.

Oct. 3

12:30 p.m. Burglary of an inhabited dwelling on Moon Drive, Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: Areas of blowing dust after noon. Sunny, with a high near 66. Windy, with an east wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tonight: Areas of blowing dust before midnight. Clear, with a low around 42. Breezy, with an east wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with an east wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 44. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 73. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 46. East northeast wind around 10 mph.

The beginning of next week will start out sunny and mostly clear, with highs around 70 that will drop into the 60s as the week progresses. Lows will be 40 degrees or less.

CIVIC CALENDAR

• The Tehachapi City Council will meet Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St. Items on the agenda include appointing a commissioner to the Airport Commission. View the full agenda HERE.

• The next Airport Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St. The commissioners will discuss a potential commercial enterprise and an expansion on the north side. Read the full agenda HERE.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Tehachapi Unified School District will meet at 6 p.m. at Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.

• The regular meeting of the Bear Valley Community Services District board of directors will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, 6 p.m., at the CSD building, 28999 S. Lower Valley Road.
