The latest news - An accident on Tucker Road yesterday afternoon sent four people to the hospital. An update on their condition was not available this morning, but posts on Facebook reflect some of those involved suffered only minor injuries. READ the story here.

Tehachapi Police Department:

Nov. 5, 2013

7:58 a.m. Found Property occurred at Tehachapi Police Department. Reporting party is from city maintenance, found Spiderman scooter on the corner of Ponderosa and Mesquite. Disposition: Report taken.

10:54 a.m. Suspicious circumstances occurred on South Curry Street. There is an older male driving around the elementary school for about an hour in older brown Buick. Disposition: Unable to locate.

2:04 p.m. Major traffic accident occurred on Tucker Road across from Albertsons. Four people injured. Disposition: Report taken. READ the story.

5:36 p.m. Flag down officer initiated activity at West "E" Street. Tehachapi Hospital staff requesting a welfare check. Subject left the hospital, still has an IV tube in her arm. Disposition: Information only.

7:15 p.m. Out of control juvenile occurred on West "E" Street. Irate patient in lobby. Disposition: Arrest made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Nov. 5, 2013

10:03 a.m. Animal call occurred on Woodbine Court. Six cows are directly across the street on Woodbine Court. Disposition: Assignment completed.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation

Deputies responded to 14 incidents between Nov. 4 and the morning of Nov. 6, including a suspicous circumstances call on Claires Way, and a burglar alram in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.


The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 64. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. East northeast wind around 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming south southeast in the morning.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. West northwest wind around 5 mph.

The remainder of the week will remain much the same, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s, and skies remaining mostly sunny and clear.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission has canceled its November meeting.

• The next scheduled meeting for the Tehachapi Airport Commission is Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m. at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St.

• Tehachapi Unified School District board's next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.


Football – Varsity/JV at Garces this Friday, Nov. 8. Frosh at Garces this Thursday, Nov. 7. Varsity starts at 7:30 p.m. and JV/Freshmen starts at 5 p.m.

Volleyball – Varsity/JV/Frosh-Soph vs. Garces at home on Thursday, Nov. 7. Matches start at 6:30 p.m. (Varsity), 5 p.m. (JV) and 4 p.m. (Frosh-Soph).

Cross Country – Varsity/JV at SEYL Tri-Meet (East/Highland) on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Brite Lake. First run starts at 3:30 p.m.

Correction: The tryouts for the Starlings Volleyball Club will be Sunday, Nov. 17, not Nov. 18.
