The latest news - The Kern County Fire Department responded to a structure fire last night at 20302 Valley Blvd. at 8:35 p.m. According to a news release, the fire involved a 1,000 square foot detached garage, that was approximately 25 percent involved at the rear. Kern County firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 20 minutes and save $100,000 worth of property value. A total of 26 fire personnel and seven engines were on the scene. No injuries were reported and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Dec 2, 2013:
1:10 p.m. Drunk in public. Occurred at Burger Spot on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Cellular E911 Call: white male, late 40s, black sweatshirt, blue jeans, black beanie, carrying a can of beer, walking with pit bull, near Tehachapi liquor. Disposition: Checks Ok.
1:24 p.m. Auto accident — no injury/property damage. Occurred at Albertsons on Tucker Road. GMC white utility vs. 2009 Dodge Silver right in front of the store in the parking lot. Disposition: Assignment Completed.
Dec. 3, 2013:
6:36 a.m. Reckless driving occurred at Banducci Road and Tucker Road. Cellular E911 call: on Banducci Road, behind the vehicle, black truck was attempting road rage with reporting person. Disposition: Unable to Locate.
Bear Valley Springs Police Department:
Dec. 2, 2013:
9:56 a.m. Burglary report. Occurred at Bear Valley Springs Association on Rolling Oak Drive. Occurred sometime between Wednesday, Nov. 27 and today, at the tennis courts. A safe with approximately $75 was taken from the shack. Disposition: Report Taken.
10:43 p.m. Suspicious circumstances occurred on Pinedale Drive. Reporting person states that she heard subjects in her backyard and are now on her roof. Reporting person saw one male possibly with his son carrying a drill. Disposition: Checks Ok.
Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:
Between Dec. 2 and the morning of Dec. 3, the Kern County Sherriff's Department responded to 15 incidents, including a petty theft investigation at S & H Food Mart on South Street, and a petty theft investigation in Sand Canyon.
Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.
California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.
Today: A chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 43 by 5pm. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Tonight: A chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 26. Blustery, with a west northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday: A chance of rain and snow showers before 9am, then a slight chance of snow showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Light southwest wind becoming west northwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. West northwest wind around 10 mph.
A slight chance of snow is forecasted for Wednesday, but skies will clear by the end of the week. High temperatures will remain in the low-to-mid-30s, with lows dipping to around 20.
