The latest news - Late Monday afternoon, parents received a TeleParent notice after a 16-year-old girl was approached by a man asking her to come home with him to drink beer. Chief Jeff Kermode reported this morning that there are no updates to the original release, which can be read HERE.

Tehachapi Police Department:
Sept. 9, 2013
8:07 a.m. Health and safety check at Monroe High School. Student was in possession of marijuana. Disposition: Arrest made.
11:59 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. call at Tehachapi Airport. Two loose pit bulls running loose, chasing people and being aggressive; one is black and white and the other all white. DIsposition: Turned over.
1:18 p.m. Petty theft less than $400 reported; solar light taken from front yard in the night. Disposition: Report taken.
1:44 p.m. Petty theft less than $400; three loads of laundry reported stolen from facility. Disposition: Report taken.
2:16 p.m. Suspicious person reported at Valley Boulevard/South Mill Street. Hispanic male, 50, longer gray hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a dark colored shirt, blue jeans and with a dirty appearance, approached at 16-year-old female, asking her to go to his house and drink beer. Last seen walking toward Curry Street. Disposition: Report taken. READ HERE
4:30 p.m. Drunk in public call to business on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Reported Hispanic male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with tattoos, short black hair and a bruis on his face by his right eye; also wearing board shorts and a white t-shirt. Was harassing customers. Disposition: Arrest made, one male for being drunk in public.
4:35 p.m. Suspicious circumstances on Miller Lane. Subjects were trying to gain access to a residence; attempted to go in through garage, windows and then went around to the back. Two females, one with blue hair and the other brown hair, arrived in a brown four-door Mercury. DIsposition: Information only.
5:25 p.m. Traffic stop at Valley Boulevard. Disposition: Arrest made; felony arrest warrant.
6:31 p.m. Traffic stop at Cherry Lane/Tucker Road; vehicle with no plates. Disposition: Arrest made.
7:52 p.m. Petty theft report at business on West Tehachapi Boulevard. White male, wearing black shirt and black hat with a red bill, possibly left the store through an emergency exit. Disposition: Report taken.
11:24 p.m. Rattle snake in kitchen of residence on Arabian Drive; is currently contained. Disposition: Assignment completed.
Sept. 10, 2013
2:20 a.m. Shots fired/heard on West "I" Street, reported via cell phone 911 call. Shots were heard in the area and a second reporting party heard them in the same area. Disposition: Advised. NOTE: No gunshots; illegal fireworks were seized.
2:51 a.m. 911 call from business on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Talking heard in the background; Disposition: Arrest made, one female for misdemeanor warrant.
Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

4:39 p.m. Welfare check request on Springwood Court. Resident has not picked up mail or paid his bill at CSD for two months, which is out of character. Disposition: Checks OK.
5:48 p.m. Citizen requested assistance on Cumberland Road. Female, 85, with dementia, trying to walk in busy road and is being combative with reporting party. Disposition: Turned over.
Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Nothing reported.
Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.
California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

This afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
The rest of the week is forecasted to be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 80s and a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

• The Tehachapi City Council will meet Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St. One item to be discussed is a proposed spending plan for funds received by the city under Government Code section 30061, the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund.
• The Tehachapi Unified School Distrcit Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 10, at the Claude Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.
• A notice of adjournment has been issued for the Tuesday, Sept. 10, Airport Commission meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St.
• Directors of the Bear Valley Community Services District will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 12, at the CSD building, 28999 S. Lower Valley Road.
• On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District will hold its regular board of directors meeting at 6 p.m. as the Golden Hills Community Services District building, 21415 Reeves St. The agenda has not yet been distributed.
