The latest news - The Tehachapi Planning Commission is hosting a meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St. The Golden Hills CSD is hosting a special board meeting at 5:30 p.m. tonight at the district headquarters, 21415 Reeves St.

March 7, 2014

8:57 a.m. Traffic stop. Officer initiated activity at Golden Hills Boulevard and Madre Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

1:42 p.m. Shots fire/heard. Officer initiated activity at Tompkins Elementary, South Curry St. C19 Received a call an unknown subject is shooting at the school. Disposition: Report taken.

March 8, 2014

1:20 p.m. Driving under the influence of alcohol. Occurred at Cos Mini Storage on South Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

1:55 p.m. Petty theft less than $400. Occurred at Kmart on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Disposition: Arrest made.

5:56 p.m. Animal call. Disposition: Report Taken.

March 9, 2014

8:47 p.m. Vandalism against person or property of another. Occurred on East "C" Street. Disposition: Report taken.

10:58 p.m.Vandalism against person or property of another. Occurred on Cherry Lane. Disposition: Report taken.

 

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

March 7, 2014

11:32 a.m. Traffic stop. Officer initiated activity at Cummings Valley Road and Bear Valley Road. Warrant subject. Disposition: Arrest made.

March 8, 2014

11:24 a.m. Theft of mail. Occurred on Sunset Way. Theft of package from mailbox, victim has delivery confirmation. Disposition: Report taken.

March 9, 2014

7:38 a.m. Animal call. Occurred on Cumberland Road. Deceased deer on the side of the roadway. Disposition: Report taken.

9:05 a.m. Stolen vehicle report. Occurred on Pinedale Drive. Disposition: Arrest made.

11:39 a.m. Vandalism against person or property of another. Occurred on Shenandoah Place. Reporting person's vehicle was egged. Disposition: Advised.

8:23 a.m. Traffic stop. Officer initiated activity at Bear Valley Road and Hart Drive. Disposition: Arrest made.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between March 7 and the morning of March 10, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 50 incidents, including a burglary investigation, a spousal battery investigation, and a petty theft investigation. All three were in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. Breezy, with an east wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. Breezy, with an east wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

• John Gorka, renowned singer-songwriter is performing with Antje Duvekot at Fiddlers Crossing on Sunday, March 16 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $20.

• A Night in the Limelight, Evening of the Arts, is taking place in the Tehachapi High School gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome. Seats are $8 at the door, children under 5 get in free.

• Ernest Troost is performing at Fiddlers Crossing Friday, March 21, at 7 p.m. All seats are $20.

• The Tehachapi Planning Commission next's meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 10, at 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.

• The Golden Hills Community Services District is hosting a special board meeting Monday, March 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the district headquarters, 21415 Reeves St.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District's next board meeting is slated for Tuesday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.
