The latest news - Concerns about a decision by Golden Hills Community Services District to pursue taking on trash collection instead of Kern County — possibly replacing Benz Sanitation with an out-of-town contractor — has prompted the Board of Directors of the Greater Tehachapi Economic Development Council to schedule a special public meeting at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Beekay Theatre on Green Street.

Sept. 13, 2013
6:43 a.m. Burglary reported at business on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road. Disposition: Report taken.
9:43 a.m. Locate missing person, activity initiated by officer at Tehachapi High School. Disposition: Arrest made.
11:55 a.m. Assault with a deadly weapon at West "D" Street/South Pauley Street. Subject with a baseball bat, possibly armed with a knife and cut the reporting party's brother. Disposition: Assignment completed. NOTE: Weapon was a baseball bat. The suspect is known to currently be on supervised release per AB 109.
1:07 p.m. Accident on West Valley Boulevard with no injuries. Involved three vehicles. Disposition: Report taken.
4:06 p.m. Grand theft of $400 or more at business on Harris Road. Travel trailer popup camper found missing on July 4. Disposition: Turned over.
5:03 p.m. Disturbing the peace call on Brentwood Drive. Reporting party was threatened and will be locked in his bedroom until an officer arrives. Disposition: Arrest made.
Sept. 14, 2013
2:16 a.m. Officer initiated pedestrian check at Canyon Drive West. While driving through the neighborhood, the officer spotted 19-year-old Timothy David Gillies partially inside a vehicle parked on the street; the vehicle did not belong to Gillies. He was arrested and booked for vehicle burglary and possession of burglary tools. Disposition: Arrest made.
5:46 p.m. Battery on Brentwood Drive. Under the influence subject hit reporting party in the head with her fist. Female is now in the bedroom. Reporting party stated disturbing party female was also not clothed from the waist down when she hit her. Disposition: Arrest made.
Sept. 15, 2013
12:59 p.m. Hit and run with property damage on Highway 202. White Camry damaged in the front. Disposition: Report taken.
Bear Valley Springs Police Department:
Sept. 14, 2013
1:43 p.m. Shots fired/heard at Willow Pass Drive/Bear Valley Drive. Possible gun shots near the mailbox kiosk area. Disposition: Assignment completed.
2:02 p.m. Shots fired/heard at Sunland Way/Skyline Drive. Approximately seven gunshots heard. Second report. Disposition: No criminal activity.
2:08 p.m. Driving under the influence at Skyline Drive/Butterfield Way. White Jeep pulling a load of wood, possibly a traffic hazard, appears to be having difficulty with vehicle in the roadway. DIsposition: Arrest made.
Sept. 15, 2013
1:14 a.m. Traffic stop at Bear Valley Road/Cummings Valley Road. Disposition: Arrest made.
Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Nothing reported.
Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.
California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.
The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:
This afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 87. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Tonight: Clear, with a low around 55. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west northwest in the morning.
Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
The remainder of the week is forecasted to remain sunny and clear, with highs around 80 and lows in the 50s.

• The Tehachapi City Council will meet Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St. One item to be discussed is a proposed spending plan for funds received by the city under Government Code section 30061, the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund.
• A notice of adjournment was issued for the Tuesday, Sept. 10, Airport Commission meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St.
• On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District will hold its regular board of directors meeting at 6 p.m. as the Golden Hills Community Services District building, 21415 Reeves St. The agenda has not yet been distributed.

•The Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District board of directors meets at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the district headqarters, 22901 Banducci Road.
• Directors from the Golden Hills CSD will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, at CSD building, 21415 Reeves St.
