Tehachapi Police Department:

May 28, 2014

1 a.m. Pedestrian check. Officer initiated activity at Santa Barbara Drive. Disposition: Checks ok.

2:10 a.m. Pedestrian check. Officer initiated activity at North Mojave Street/East "H" Street. Disposition: Checks ok.

11:31 a.m. Unauthorized use of personal information. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department. Counter. Disposition: Report taken.

11:47 a.m. Out for investigation. Officer initiated activity at West "D" Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.

11:49 a.m. Welfare check request. Occurred on South Pauley Street. Los Angeles County Child social worker requested to check the welfare child 10 years old. Social worker had anonymous call stating their living conditions are surrounded with narcotic activity. Home is not clean or livable. Disposition: Arrest made.

12:07 p.m. Any civil problem. Occurred on  South Curry Street. Female wants to pick up a  vaccum cleaner.  Reporting party does not wish officer contact, log and note only. Disposition: Information only.

12:57 p.m. Suspicious person. Occurred on Black Oak Drive. Suspicious white male subject is going door to door soliciting, description: black hair, blue jeans, plaid shirt. Disposition: Advised.

1:06 p.m. Petty theft report. Occurred at Kmart on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Female in custody in office. Disposition: Arrest made.

1:18 p.m. Suspicious person. Occurred on East "D" Street. Report of a male subject sitting on the sidewalk who is rocking back and forth and pointing in the air. Male subject is dressed in all black, white socks, black shoes. Disposition: Unable to locate.

1:46 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Occurred at U.S. Post Office. Past occurred. Disposition: Information only.

2:03 p.m. Health and Safety. Occurred at Jacobsen Middle School on Anita Drive. Student in office in possession of tobacco. Disposition: No further action required. Handled by administration.

2:43 p.m. Peace disturbance, verbal. Occurred on Clearview Street. Cellular 9-1-1 call: two male subjects were fighting. Disposition: No further action required, unable to locate.

3:33 p.m. Any civil problem. Occurred on West Valley Boulevard. Requested officer to call her. Disposition: Civil problem.

3:48 p.m. Disturbing the peace. Occurred on Kelton Street. Between sister and brother. Disposition: Advised, no further action required.

5:19 p.m. Subpoena service attempt. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department. Disposition: Information only.

5:27 p.m. Peace disturbance, verbal. Occurred on Michael Avenue. Checks ok.

6:12 p.m. Reckless driving. Occurred at Valley Boulevard/Griffin Street. Quads in the area of dirt field. Disposition: Unable to locate.

6:19 p.m. Auto accident, no injuries/property. Occurred on South Curry Street. Disposition: No further action required.

6:35 p.m. Man down. Occurred at West "C"/South Mill Streets. Cellular 9-1-1 call: In an alley near the corner, hispanic, adult male subject, approximately 18 years of age, black shirt and pants and tennis shoes. Disposition: Turn over to fire.

6:49 p.m. Pedestrian check. Officer initiated activity at North Mill Street. Disposition: Arrest made, under the influence.

7:03 p.m. Found property. Occurred on South Green Street. Found two checks, will be enroute to Tehachapi Police Department to turn in, will be in a red pickup. Disposition: Information only.

8:09 p.m. Follow up. Officer initiated activity at Oakwood Street. Disposition: No further action required.

8:24 p.m. Assault with a deadly weapon. Occurred on Las Colinas Street. Possible stabbing,  32 year old victim, unknown where incident happened, victim showed up at reporting party's  home, then left, possibly went to the hospital. Disposition: Report taken. Unable to locate victim.

Bear Valley Police Department: Nothing to report.

Kern County Sheriff's Department:

Between May 28 and the morning of May 29, the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to 18 calls, including a suspicious vehicle on Loop Street, lost property on Banducci Road, suspicious circumstances at Hart Flat, 9-1-1 call on Michelle Lane, missing juvenile on Highline Road, and public intoxication on Santa Barbara Drive.

Stallion Springs: Nothing to report.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing to report.


Today: Sunny, with a high near 78. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 80. West wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.


• The Catholic Daughters will be holding their Spring Rummage sale on Friday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in McMullan Hall at St. Malachy Catholic Church, located at 407 W. "E" St.

• Scout Troop 178 will host a rummage sale to raise money for Scout Camp on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 7 a.m., at the Health and Wellness Parking lot, located at 20241 Valley Blvd.


• Tehachapi High School will host the Senior Awards Night, Thursday, May 29, at 6 p.m., in the Tehachapi High School gym. The school's many graduates will be receiving local and national scholarships and awards.

• Lisa Kroese will give a presentation and answer questions on the topic of "What will we do with all of our stuff?" The public is invited and the June 5 meeting will be at the Senior Center, located at 500 E. "F" St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
