The public safety report is based upon our request to have information from the various agencies each weekday morning, covering the period since our last contact. We appreciate those agencies that are helping us bring you the News@Noon.

Tehachapi Police Department:

May 30, 2014

12:29 a.m. Fire, occurred on Highline Road. Possible fire near a residence or in a field near a residence, transfer to fire department. Disposition, turn over to other agency.

9:47 a.m. Vandalism report, occurred on East "E" Street. Evidence of possible squatters in back shed, back door broken or kicked in. Disposition: Information only.

12:11 p.m. Counter at the police department, occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Reporting party is advising her child is suffering abuse at Tompkins School. Disposition: Report taken.

12:52 p.m. Burglary report,  occurred on Bartlett Street. Attempted burglary to residence. Reporting party is interpreter for victims. Disposition: Information only.

1:59 p.m. Health and safety, occurred on Miller Lane. Reporting party advising there is a red headed female outside the vehicle, it has been back and forth from the residence several times today, subjects stand at the window then go inside then leave again, believes possibly related to Health and Safety activity. Disposition: Unable to locate.

2:47 p.m. Vicious, barking, biting occurred at South Mojave Street/East "E" Street. Vicious, pit cornered young girl, reporting party was able to get to girl before being attacked. The dog ran away loose. Disposition: Unable to locate.

3:03 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred at Skate Park on West "D" Street. Disposition: Arrest Made. Battery

6:59 p.m. Subpoena service attempt, officer initiated activity at West "J" Street. Disposition: Assignment completed.

7:06 p.m. Subpoena service attempt, officer initiated activity at West "J" Street.  Disposition: Assignment completed.

8:15 p.m. Health and safety, occurred on South Mill Street. Two juveniles smoking, possible health and safety, subjects last seen heading toward the Catholic church plot. Disposition: Assignment completed. Unable to locate.

8:21 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred at Tehachapi Hospital on West "E" Street. Male subject wearing blue scrub pants and a black shirt in the ER refusing to leave after being discharged; subject has mental issues. Disposition: Report taken.

11:24 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on North Robinson Street. Unknown male subject throwing dirt outside the residence. Reporting party hung up prior to obtaining further information Disposition: Unable to locate.

11:59 p.m. Assist other agencies, occurred on Putting Green Way. Several subjects in peace disturbance at a large party.  Subjects fighting are out in the street. Disposition: Assisted.

May 31, 2014

Midnight Disturbing the peace, occurred at Miller Lane/Cherry Lane. Male and female are in the field yelling. Disposition: Negative contact.

12:09 a.m. Trespassing, occurred on Elm Street. Possible trespassing in progress. Reporting party hears noises in the shed behind her residence.  Disposition: Gone on arrival.

12:58 a.m. Burglary report, occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Reporting party's  vehicle was broken into last night, laptop and iPhone was taken. Disposition: Report taken.

3:20 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Skyline Drive. Reporting party's sister  is under the influence of psychiatric  medications and meth and is hitting everyone, disturbing party heard screaming in the background. Father is attempting to restrain her, distraught over recent breakup. Disposition: Arrest made.

3:50 p.m. Warrant service, occurred at Regional Transit/ Burger King/ Kmart parking lot.  Male subject with major crime alert, $500,000 bail. Disposition: Unable to locate.

4:04 p.m. Warrant service, officer initiated activity at Regional Transit/Burger King/Kmart parking lot, Tehachapi. Disposition: Arrest ,ade.

5:12 p.m.  Peace disturbance verbal, occurred at Apostolic Faith Church on South Curry Street. Male heard yelling profanity from inside the church on the  south side , subjects still inside, no one was seen leaving. Disposition: Checks OK.

6:22 p.m. Assist other agencies,  occurred at Tucker Road/Highline Road. Transfer from CHP, aggressive bulls fell off a trailer and is currently in the roadway on Highline Road. Owners are attempting to corral. Disposition: Assisted.

7:15 p.m. Peace disturbance verbal, occurred on West Valley Boulevard. Husband was outside the residence banging on the door. Disposition: Assignment completed.

7:54 p.m. Petty theft of less than $400, occurred at Kmart on West Tehachapi Boulevard. 17-year-old male detained in the office, unable to contact guardian. Disposition: Arrest made.

8:07 p.m. Vandalism against personal property, officer initiated activity at West Park, West "D" Street. Malicious mischief to one of the sheds. Disposition: Report taken.

9:55 p.m. Driving under the influence of alcohol, occurred at Save Mart on Tucker Road. Male in a silver Camaro seen pouring wine in a cup and drive away. Last seen northbound on Tucker past Valley Boulevard. Disposition: No further action required .

10:07 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Oakwood Street. Husband yelling and threatening reporting party, unknown if under the influence. Disposition: Advised.
 
June 1, 2014
 
1:57 a.m. Petty theft of less than $400, occurred in Alpine Forest. Hiker in the mountains of Alpine Forest can see a petty theft of a Polaris in progress. Disposition: Turn over to agency.

10:16 a.m. Assist other agencies, officer initiated activity at Banducci Road/Highline Road. Vehicle rollover, CHP extended. Disposition: Assisted.

1:30 p.m. Warrant service, officer initiated activity at North Davis Street/West "H" Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

2:02 p.m.  Pedestrian check, officer initiated activity at Woodford Tehachapi Road/Country Club Drive. Disposition: Arrest made.

5:28 p.m. Traffic stop, officer initiated activity at East "J" Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

8:11  p.m. Petty theft of less than $400, occurred at Dollar General Store on Tucker Road. 11-year-old female is detained for taking several items. No parent or adult with the child. Disposition: Assignment completed.

8:35 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred at South Pauley Street/West "F" Street. Four male subjects in a physical. Disturbing party is refusing to get off the property. Disposition: Assignment completed.

9:50 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on South Pauley Street. Peace disturbance heard verbally in the background. Phone disconnected. Disposition: Arrest made.
 
June 2, 2014
 
1:18 a.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Pinon Street. Farm workers and their equipment extremely loud in the field east of Heritage Oaks. Disposition: Advised.

6:54 a.m. Auto accident, no injuries, officer initiated activity at Tucker Road/West Tehachapi Boulevard. Disposition: No further action required .

7:57 a.m. Burglary, inhabited, occurred on Scarlet Oak Drive. In progress, male subject is attempting to possible break into a vehicle, possibly under the influence. Disposition: Arrest made
 

 

Bear Valley Police Department: 

June 1, 2014

8:59 a.m. Reckless driving, occurred at South Lower Valley Road/Pinedale Drive. On Lower Valley toward the Country Club. High speeds, not stopping at stop sign, possibly female driver in a white medium truck. Disposition: Unable to locate.

10:16 a.m. Assist other agency, officer initiated activity at Banducci Road/Highline Road. Vehicle rollover. Disposition: Assisted.

10:37 p.m. Suspicious activity, occurred on Oakflat Drive. There is person looking through the glass of her front door. Disposition: Unable to locate.
 

Kern County Sheriff's Department:

Between May 30 and the morning of June 2, the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to 41 calls, including a disabled vehicle on Highway 58 and Highway 223, a physical disturbance of the peace on Putting Green Way, a verbal disturbance of the peace on Cherry Lane/Tucker Road, loud music on Banducci Road, a trespassing on Pine Ridge Road/WestHave Drive, a peace disturbance on Westwood Boulevard, a battery investigation on Putting Green Way, a trespassing in Keene, a missing juvenile call at Settlers Place, and a public intoxication on Mission Street.

Stallion Springs: Nothing to report.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing to report.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

UPCOMING EVENTS



• The Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi will hear a presentation from Chris Goldblatt about the non-profit Fish Reef Project on at noon Wednesday, June 4 at Pacinos, 1100 West Tehachapi Blvd.

• LIBRA will host a used book sale Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, at the Railroad Park. Donations of used books are sought for the sale, and can be made by calling 822-9113.

• The Main Street Farmers Market will start at Railroad Park on June 5 and will run every Thursday until Aug. 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Have a Heart will host its annual yard sale Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, with gates opening at 8 a.m., at 20901 La Barranca Ave.

• College Community Services — The Learning Center, located at 107 S. Mill St., Suite B, will be hosting Movie Day Wednesday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. RSVP at least two days in advance of the event by calling 822-4639.

• The seventh annual Main Street Tehachapi Chili Cookoff will be held Downtown on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 822-6519.
 

CIVIC CALENDAR

• Tehachapi City Council meets 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2 at Claude Wells Education Center, 300 South Robinson Street.

• Election Day, Tuesday, June 3. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Poll locations here for Tehachapi area.

• The Golden Hills Community Services District board of directors will have a special meeting from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7 at 21415 Reeves St.

• Lisa Kroese will give a presentation and answer questions on the topic of "What will we do with all of our stuff?" The public is invited and the June 5 meeting will be at the Senior Center, located at 500 E. "F" St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District’s regular board meeting will be held Tuesday, June 10, at 6 p.m., at Claude L. Wells Education Center, located at 300 S. Robinson St.

• Join the Tehachapi area Boy Scouts of America for a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Friday, June 13, at 5 p.m.
