The Tehachpi News office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18 in observance of President's Day.

The latest - Steven Vogel, the 26-year old man arrested on charges related to performing sex acts with minors, was arranged in a Mojave courtroom yestersday. Our reporter Ed Gordon was there. AND the Tehachapi High School 7th ranked Boys Soccer team will play at No. 2 Roosevelt today. Go Warriors!

10:21 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred at Ruhman, Meir or Ruhman, Emma on South Mill St.  Possible domestic violence heard, yelling between male and female. Female was heard saying ouch. Unknown if weapons involved.
10:31 WELFARE CHECK REQUEST Occurred at overpass on Tehachapi Willow Springs Rd. and East Tehachapi Blvd. Check on welfare of a white female adult in the southbound lane on the overpass, looking below at traffic, almost leaning position.
11:45 KEEP THE PEACE.Occurred at Four Seasons Trailer Park on West  "J" St. Keep the peace for a private party impound.
13:27 SUBPOENA SERVICE ATTEMPT Occurred at Indian Creek Villas on Tucker Rd. Witness to be served.
13:34 UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA Occurred at skate park on West “D” St. Group of juveniles smoking narcotics behind half pipe. Two Hispanic males, three white males, one has long hair.
13:54 SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE Occurred at S Pauley St. and West “D” St. Older model Toyota van gold with black rims. Suspicious in the area, possibly drug activity and were responsible for vandalizing the laundry room at his complex. Unable to locate.
14:11 CITIZEN REQUESTED ASSISTANCE Occurred at Burger King on West Tehachapi Blvd.  Standing by green Chevy Astro van.
16:26 SUSPICIOUS PERSON Occurred at Starbucks Coffee on Tucker Rd. Suspicious Hispanic male seen looking into vehicles in the parking lot. On foot in the company of a Hispanic female.
17:01 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred at Activity Center on West “D” St. Possible disturbance, not in progresses at this time. Black male juvenile inciting a female on bike in company of two males. Subjects stated they were coming back with more people. Also approx. 15 juveniles in the area smoking.
17:02 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at South Pauley St, and West Tehachapi Blvd. on railroad tracks. Arrest made.
18:08 BATTERY Occurred on Aspen Dr. Resident's daughter's boyfriend chocked and threatened to kill her. Threw phone at their new born baby. Female is complaining of pain to her neck but will seek medical attention on her own. Arrest made.
18:25 CITIZEN REQUESTED ASSISTANCE Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Would like to discuss her daughter.
18:41 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Occurred on Wild Olive Dr.  Two vehicles in front of her residence and someone is trying to get in. Three subjects are looking into the window. Youth and mother are upstairs in a bedroom closet. Checks Ok.
22:14 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred at South Curry St. and West “E” St.  Between two females in the parking lot of apartment complex located behind Jake's Steak House. Reporting party does not have a visual, hears them yelling at each other. Unable to locate.
07:55 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at Best Western Mountain Inn, West Tehachapi Blvd.
08:23 SUBPOENA SERVICE ATTEMPT Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Two witness subpoena's on call.
08:51 BURGLARY ALARM Occurred at H & R Block on East “F” St. Burglary alarm front door. False Alarm.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing to report.

Bear Valley Police Department: Nothing to report.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing to report.

This afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 63. Breezy with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 36 and windy.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 62. East southeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturay night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. Light winds.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 53, dipping to around 33 in the evening.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 53 and a low around 38.

CIVIC CALENDAR

Tehachapi High School will have a School Site Council Meeting on Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. The public is invited. The high shcool is located at 801 South Dennison Rd.

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District's February Board of Director’s meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19, has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the TVRPD office, 490 W. "D" St.

Boys Soccer – Varsity (No. 7 seed) in Central Section Division III playoffs; Warriors beat No. 10 Independence on Wednesday, 3-1.  Warriors will be up against No. 2 Roosevelt today.
