The public safety report is based upon our request to have information from the various agencies each weekday morning, covering the period since our last contact. We appreciate those agencies that are helping us bring you the News@Noon.

Tehachapi Police Department:

Dec. 4, 2013:

7:29 a.m. Traffic stop, officer initiated activity at South Dennison Road. Disposition: Arrest made.

12:49 p.m. Stolen vehicle occurred on East "D" Street. Cellular E911 Call: Reporting party called from out of the area, stated his vehicle was seen being taken approximately 20 minutes ago. Vehicle was a 1995 Dodge White Ram 1/2 ton, tailgate is off at the back end. Disposition: Report taken.

5:31 p.m. Hazardous material occurred on South Curry Street. Reporting party smells gas near the school, next to the cafeteria coming from a hole in the ground covered with a board. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

6:05 p.m. Burglary Report occurred on West "E" Street. Reporting party came home to find house broken into. Disposition: Report taken.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Dec. 4, 2013:

5:27 a.m. Water alarm occurred on Oakflat Dr. Reporting party states he has extremely high water pressure which is causing his hot water heater high pressure sensor to go off. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

9:39 a.m. Theft of mail occurred on Cumberland Rd. Theft from the Mail boxes on Cumberland
Reporting party was expecting a package that cost approximately $40.00. Disposition: Information only.

11:20 a.m. Theft of mail occurred on San Juan Drive. Approximately $75 item stolen from the mailbox. reporting party already confirmed with post office that they are not holding his package. Disposition: report taken.

12:29 p.m. Theft of mail occurred on Columbia Way. Reporting party states package was taken from mailbox, approximately $200 worth of movies. Disposition: Report taken.

1:33 p.m. Theft of mail occurred on Pinedale Drive. Approximately $100 loss of package that was taken from the mailbox. Disposition: Report taken.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Between Dec. 4 and the morning of Dec. 5, the Kern County Sherriff's Department responded to 16 incidents, including an investigation of an assult with a deadly weapon in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

WEATHER FORECAST

Today: Sunny, with a high near 35. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 19. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 38. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after 10pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 26. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

The Tehachapi Planning Commission will hold a public meeting to discuss the Walmart project and revised EIR Monday, Dec. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Monroe High School Gym. For more information on the issue click HERE.

• The Tehachapi Unified School District Board will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center.

• The Bear Valley Springs CSD will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Oak Tree Country Club.
