The latest news - Al Romano, a board member of the Bear Valley Springs Community Services District filed his resignation on Jan. 2 due to health concerns. Romano, along with four members of the CSD staff have resigned within the last month, including General Manager Jeff Hodge, Assistant General Manager Sandy Janzen, Finance Director Rudy Hernandez, and Legal Counsel Kristin Hagan. Romano had served on the board for 8 years. More information will be provided in next week's publication.

7:44 p.m. Hazardous material. Occurred at Water Treatment Plant on North Lower Valley Road at the intersection. Heavy odor of methane gas. Disposition: Checks Ok.
Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Jan. 2 and the morning of Jan. 3, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 14 incidents, including a petty theft investigation and a peace disturbance investigation in Golden Hills.
Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.
California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.
