The latest news - Officers with the Tehachapi Police Department arrested Steven Michael Orozco and Fayrene Lydia Wheat yesterday afternoon after Orozco allegedly threated an 18-year-old male in the 200 block of East "I" Street with a semi-automatic hangun. Tehachapi Police Department:

Jan. 21, 2014

7:14 a.m. Stolen vehicle report. Occurred on East "E" Street. Past occurre-vehicle was stolen some time last night around 11:30 p.m. The vehicle was locked-Silverado Chevrolet 2004, blue expired tags - vehicle registration to deceased brother Sousa, Terry. Disposition: Report taken.

7:52 a.m. Vandalism report. Occurred at Four Seasons Mini Mart on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Someone ripped the wire off the security camera sometime last night betwee 9 and 6. Disposition: Report Taken.

9:31 a.m. Petty theft report. Occurred at Save Mart #64 on Tucker Road. Past Occurred 1-19-14, reporting person needs to make report on an employee who has stolen fire wood and other items. Disposition: Report Taken.

1:38 p.m. Exhibiting weapon. Occurred on East "I" Street. Flagged down by a citizen adv seen a male subject possible armed with a gun. Suspect hispanic male with mustache in grey shirt, in silver mitsubishi two door occurred on 201 East "I" Street  flagged down at 200 North Mill St. Disposition: Arrest made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Jan. 21, 2014

6:03 a.m. Trespassing report. Occurred on Coral Springs Lane. States that her front gate auto arm has been disabled and removed. Disposition: Report taken.

4:03 p.m. Annoying phone calls. Occurred at Bear Valley Country Store on Bear Valley Road. Store clerk received a threatening call. Disposition: Report taken.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Jan. 21 and the morning of Jan. 22, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 25 incidents, including a grand theft auto investigation on Blackburn Canyon Road and a burglary investigation in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.


Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. West wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 60. Breezy, with an east wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
