The latest news - According to the Califonia Highway Patrol, Cameron Canyon Rd. will be closed from Oak Creek Rd. to State Route 58 due to a hazardous materials situation. AND ... rain is expected to hit the Tehachapi area this evening with the possibility of snow by Thursday night.

03:58 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at North Mojave St. at the north end of tracks in the alley way with two subjects.
07:29 OPEN DOOR/WINDOW Officer initiated activity at Oakwood St.
07:36 TRAFFIC HAZARD Occurred at Tucker Rd. and West Valley Blvd. on north corner. Truck broke down.
07:41 ASSAULT Occurred at Jacobsen Middle School on East “F” St. Reporting party’s 13-year-old daughter was assaulted by another student while on her way home from school. Reporting party’s daughter not home at this time. Reporting party called the principle who advised her to contact the police department concerning the incident.
08:03 FOLLOW UP Officer initiated activity at Allen Ct.
08:03 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at East “E” St. between Pauley and Curry.
08:17 VICIOUS, BARKING, BITE, ETC. Occurred on East Tehachapi Blvd. Three large pit bulls in the reporting party’s yard. Stated they are her neighbor's dogs but they got out and the neighbors aren't home.
08:26 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on North Curry St. Reporting party’s 23- year-old brother going crazy. Breaking everything in the house. Per reporting party, subject has violent history. Unknown why he is doing this. Arrest made.
09:06 SCHOOL RESOURCE DUTY Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi High School, South Dennison Rd. in reference to a battery that occurred yesterday.
09:47 BURGLARY; INHABITED Occurred on East “E” St. House is vacant and no one should be there. Reporting party got info from potential renters that there may have been someone squatting and does not believe the home is currently occupied. Back door was open and entry can be made from the side gate on the right hand side.
09:50 BURGLARY ALARM Occurred on Scarlet Oak Dr. Front door activation. Still attempting contact w/ responsible.
10:31 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at Four Seasons Trailer Park, West “J” St. to the rear.
10:59 PEDESTRIAN CHECK Officer initiated activity at Ranchotel Turner Lodgeways, South Curry St.
12:13 FIRE Occurred at Tucker Rd. and Cherry Ln. Reporting party can see white smoke behind U-Stuff It Storage.
12:58 PETTY THEFT LESS THAN $400.00 Occurred on East “J” St. Male subject stole lawnmower from location on “J” St. Reporting party still has visual.
13:17 SCHOOL RESOURCE DUTY Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi High School, South Dennison Rd.
13:26 UNAUTHORIZED USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION Occurred at Fast Trip on Tucker Rd. Reporting party in red 2012 VW Jetta. Reference transactions made on wife’s credit card at location yesterday.
14:06 DRUNK IN PUBLIC Occurred at Mountain Paint and Auto Body on North Green St. Across from the business, male subject in dumpster talking to himself. Possible drug possession. Described as tall, skinny with dark hair wearing blue shirt, blue jeans, tan baseball cap and sweater tied around his waist.
14:40 DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Officer initiated activity at Tompkins Elementary on South Curry St. Per principal there is possibly a DUI driver in the school parking lot. Moving violation citation issued.
15:03 BURGLARY; INHABITED Occurred last night on Aspen Dr. Unknown suspect stole iPod and $160 from reporting party’s purse inside her apartment.
15:29 HIT AND RUN/PROPERTY Occurred on Brentwood Dr. Past occurrence. Reporting party’s vehicle got hit on the street. Vehicle is a white Scion XB. Unknown suspect vehicle.
16:37 WELFARE CHECK REQUEST Occurred at Save Mart on Tucker Rd. Subaru to the front of location with baby in back seat. No one around. Unable to locate.
16:44 VICIOUS, BARKING, BITE, ETC. Occurred at Central Park on East “D” St. Several adults barbequing in the middle of the park. Have several large dogs with them. The dogs are roaming the park, stealing food from subjects in the park. Dog stole food from reporting party’s daughter. One dog just started a fight with another subject’s dog, which is on a leash.
16:49 RECKLESS DRIVING Occurred at East “I” St. and North Robinson St. Ongoing problem with vehicles driving too fast down the street. Reporting party would like extra patrols. Red truck just drove down Robinson going at least 60 mph. Gone on arrival.
18:19 VANDALISM AGAINST PERSON OR PROPERTY OF ANOTHER Occurred on Oakwood St. Two male subjects in white Geo Metro shot at the residence with paint balls. Subjects fled northbound on Oakwood.
20:29 TRESPASSING Occurred on Aspen Dr. Five or six male juveniles hanging out on the property near laundry room area. Gone on arrival.
21:01 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Occurred at Tehachapi High School on South Dennison Rd. Passenger bus in parking lot with lights on. No one is in the area. Unable to locate.
22:51 DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Occurred at Love's Truck Stop on East Tehachapi Blvd. Rust colored Plymouth Neon, passenger has open container. Unable to locate.

10:30 CHP is being requested to assist Kern county Fire Department on a Hazmat situation at Cameron Canyon Rd. and the railroad tracks. It appears Cameron Canyon Rd. will be closed from Oak Creek Rd. to State Route 58 until the situation is stabilized.
Stallion Springs Police Department:
On 3/5/13, SSPD officers responded to a call of a possible battery. Officers contacted an adult female victim who was uncooperative. During the investigation, officers discovered the female to be in possession of four used hypodermic needles, one well used methamphetamine pipe, schedule IV prescription medication without a prescription, and over one ounce of marijuana. Officers arrested Tehachapi resident Laura Ross, and transported her to the Tehachapi Hospital and then to Bakersfield where she was booked.

WEATHER FORECAST
The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:
This afternoon: Cloudy with a high near 50 and a 20 percent chance of rain. Windy with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tonight: Chilly with a low of 29, and a 20 percent chance of showers.
Thursday: Temperatures around 46 with a 20 percent chance of showers. Southwest wind around 10 mph.
Thursday Night: Chances of rain increasing to 40 percent with a low of 27 and snow showers as low as 4,600 feet.
Possibility of snow through Friday morninig turning to rain by Friday night.

The Tehachapi Unified School District Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center located at 300 S. Robinson St.
The Tehachapi Valley Recreatrion and Parks Board of Directors will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at 5:30 p.m. at 490 West "D" St.
