The Tehachapi News presents the News@Noon for Dec. 10, 2013:

The latest news - A Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train derailed about four miles west of Tehachapi between 6 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. this morning. No injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were on the train, according to Senior Special Agent Lee Henning of Union Pacific. Read more HERE.

PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT

The public safety report is based upon our request to have information from the various agencies each weekday morning, covering the period since our last contact. We appreciate those agencies that are helping us bring you the News@Noon.

NOTE: Reports of traffic stops, pedestrian checks and other activities without details have been eliminated from the reports published here.

Tehachapi Police Department:

TPD reported 33 incidents between Dec. 9 and the morning of Dec. 10, including the following:

11:42 a.m. Threats of death/bodily injury. Occurred at Abernathy Collegiate Charter School on Anita Drive. Student who mentioned he was hearing a voice. Disposition: Advised.

11:52 a.m. Suspicious circumstances. Occurred on Sherwood Place. Regarding concerns of child abuse or neglect, past occurred at the above residence.  Reporting person requesting contact via 10-21. Disposition: Unfounded.

2:11 p.m. Unauthorized use of personal info occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Unauthorized use of ATM card. Disposition: Assisted.

11:47 p.m. Traffic stop. Officer initiated activity at West "H" Street and North Curry Street Disposition: Arrest Made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

BVSPD reported 18 incidents between Dec. 9 and the morning of Dec. 10, including the following:

10:37 a.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Oakflat Drive. One large loose dog barking at her children. Disposition: Advised.

2:42 p.m. Theft of mail. Occurred on Rolling Oak Drive. Disposition: Report Taken.

2:53 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Lakeview Drive. Dog in the backyard might be abandoned, has not seen the homeowners for the last two days. The dog was left out in the storm in the last couple of days during the storm. Reporting person did contact Animal Control about half an hour ago. Disposition: Checks Ok.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Between Dec. 9 and the morning of Dec. 10, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 16 incidents, including a battery investigation on Interlaken Street.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 41. East northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. East northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 50. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 32. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 15 to 20 mph.

• The Bear Valley Springs CSD will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Oak Tree Country Club, 29541 Rolling Oak Dr.

• The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16, 6 p.m. at the Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.
