The latest news - Local artist, Kathleen Wolf, will be among other featured artists during the downtown First Friday Art Walk tonight, beginning at 5 p.m. at participating shops. Wolf’s work will be at Fiddlers Crossing, 206 East “F” Street, corner of Robinson. Enjoy the beautiful weekend weather as the upcoming week will bring a change of rain on Tuesday night, turning to snow showers by Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

10:08 SCHOOL RESOURCE DUTY Officer initiated activity at Jacobsen Middle School Possession of weapon on school grounds. Arrest made.

12:45 FOLLOW UP Officer initiated activity at Food Mart on Tucker Rd.

13:20 FLAG DOWN Officer initiated activity at Tehachapi Police Department, East “F” St. Civil problem.

14:09 MISSING PERSON Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Counter traffic for a missing subject.

16:59 STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED Officer initiated activity at Antelope Valley Towing on East “H” St. On scene with a possible stolen vehicle victim who believes his car is at the Antelope Valley towing yard.

17:38 COUNTER AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Reporting party at public entrance doors for citation sign off.

19:28 PARKED VEHICLE Officer initiated activity at Valley Blvd. and South Mill St. Arrest made.

19:45 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred at Goodrick Dr. and North Dennison Rd. Reporting party states there is a male in the area yelling profanities and he's yelling "shoot me right here". Disturbing party is also possibly threatening a physical disturbance. Reporting party cannot see well enough for a description.

20:46 PARKED VEHICLE Officer initiated activity at Brentwood Dr.

21:14 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred at Tehachapi Hospital on West “E” St. Reporting party states there is a black male adult in the lobby causing a disturbance.

22:12 FOLLOW UP Officer initiated activity at VFW Tehachapi Mountain Post on West Tehachapi Blvd.

07:55 FOLLOW UP Occurred at VFW Tehachapi Mountain Post on West Tehachapi Blvd. Has found a tool that may have been used in prior burglary attempt can be contacted in his office at the VFW.

08:07 SCHOOL RESOURCE DUTY Officer initiated activity at Monroe High School on South Snyder Ave. Possible narcotics left in the cafeteria.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: Sunny, with a high around 64. Light winds gusting as high as 20 mph.

Tonight: Clear, dipping to a low of 36. Light winds from the east.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Light winds

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, getting down to around 37. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday: Clouds move in, partly sunny, with a high near 62. Light winds gusting to 15 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

The upcoming week will bring a change with a 20 percent chance of rain moving in on Tuesday night, turning to snow showers on Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. Snow level is expected to be at 4,100 feet.

The Tehachapi City Council will meet on Monday March 4 at 6 p.m. at the Beekay Theatre located at 110 South Green St. To view the agenda please click here.

The Tehachapi Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. at the Claude L. Wells Education Center located at 300 South Robinson St.

The Tehachapi Valley Recreatrion and Parks Board of Directors will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, March 12 at 5:30 p.m. at 490 West "D" St.

Tennis Varsity aat Clovis Tennis Classic today March 1 through Saturday, March 2.

Wrestling Tehachapi High School senior wrestler Dillon Harroun will compete in this weekend’s 41st annual CIF State Boys Wrestling Championships March 1-2 at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.
Ranked No. 20 in the state by The California Wrestler, he beat No. 22 Monterrey High School senior Jacob Golden in today’s first round match up, 13-5. He will face Landon Ray of Santiago-Corona in round two later today.
