PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT

The public safety report is based upon our request to have information from the various agencies each weekday morning, covering the period since our last contact. We appreciate those agencies that are helping us bring you the News@Noon.

Tehachapi Police Department:

Dec. 30, 2013

8:10 a.m. Burglary report. Occurred at Amber Oak Storage on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Past occurred, hole in the roof, no items taken, reporting person in the office. Disposition: Report Taken.

10:31 a.m. Stolen vehicle report. Occurred at BS&E Equipment Rental on East Tehachapi Boulevard. U-haul was stolen last night around 7 p.m. Unknown suspects, however there was a  green Chevy Tahoe with unknown plate seen by a customer around that time, unknown if subs were involved. Reporting person will be in the office. Disposition: Report Taken.

4:08 p.m. Pedestrian check. Officer initiated activity at West "H" Street and North Green Street. Disposition: Arrest Made.

Dec. 31, 2013

8:35 a.m. Petty theft less than $400.Occurred on Cimarron Court. Stolen rear license plate. Reporting person will call to file report when he gets off work this evening. Reporting person is in Bakersfield. Disposition: Information Only.

9:21 a.m. Theft of mail. Occurred at Indian Creek Villas on Tucker Road. Mail boxes appear to have been broken into and vandalized. Reporting person will be outside the office. Disposition: Report Taken.

12:52 p.m. Stolen vehicle report. Occurred on West "B" Street. 14 inch dual axle steel trailer was taken some time since last night, no one had permission to take the trailer or had keys to the hitch lock. Disposition: Report Taken.

5:03 p.m. Theft of mail. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Large package box was broken and contents were taken out. Reporting person standing by at the corner of  of "F" and Robinson. OCC at. Disposition: Report Taken.

11:42 p.m. Burglary report. Occurred at East "E" Street and South Hayes Street. States his grey '87 Chevy pick up was just moved down the street by unknown subjects and then keys and floor mats were stolen from the vehicle. Occurred within the last three hours. Disposition: Report Taken.

Jan. 1, 2014

4:19 a.m. Defrauding an innkeeper. Occurred at Denny’s on Magellan Drive. Dine and dash occurred. Two people left the restaurant after failing to pay. Red vehicle seen exiting the south side of the parking lot and getting on the freeway westbound. Female is known to the waitress and male subject appears to be beat up. Disposition: No Further Action Required.

4:13 Petty theft less than $400. Occurred at Mobile Estates Park on South Dennison Road. Vicodin stolen by son, son picked it up from Walgreens under his name without his permission. Also, reporting person's debit card was taken. Disposition: No Further Action Required.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Dec. 31, 2013

2:32 p.m. Disturbing the peace. Occurred on Cherry Lane. Caller’s brother was in a verbal altercation with the, left in unknown direction. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

5:47 p.m. Abandoned vehicle. Occurred at CSD Shop and Refuel on Souther Lower Valley Road. White Dodge Caravan crashed and is up on 2 wheels, ran up on a pole near the pumps, no one in the area. Disposition: Report Taken.

6:00 p.m. Suspicious circumstances. Occurred at Gate on Bear Valley Road. Male subject called himself a pass in to the gate, the name did not match the owner. Caller advised he is paying the owner to use their tract and lot to access BV. Disposition: Information Only.

Jan. 1, 2014

12:20 a.m. Traffic stop. Officer initiated activity at San Juan Drive and Bear Valley Road. Disposition: Arrest Made.

12:00 p.m. Theft of mail. Occurred on Oak Aire Lane. Package stolen. Disposition: Report Taken.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Dec. 30 and Jan. 1, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 54 incidents, including a peace disturbance and an auto theft in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

Boys Basketball — Varsity/Jayvee vs. California City at home on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Varsity will start at 7:30 p.m. and Jayvee will start at 4:30 p.m.

Girls Basketball – Varsity/Jayvee vs. California City at home on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Varsity will start at 6 p.m. and Jayvee will start at 3 p.m. Jayvee will also be at Shafter Winter Shootout on Thursday, Jan. 2. Frosh-Soph will be at Arvin Tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
