Tehachapi Police Department:

Oct. 4, 2013

12:01 a.m. Shots fired/heard on West "J" Street. One shot was heard in the rear of the residence area, then someone heard screaming. Disposition: Unable to locate.

7:31 a.m. Auto accident with minor injuries at East Orchard Parkway/Alder Avenue. Vehicle versus pedestrian. Reporting party is the driver in a blue CRV; female victim had injuries to her arm. Disposition: Report taken.

1:12 p.m. Major traffic accident at Plateau Court/Bear Valley Road. Unknown injuries; one vehicle overturned. Disposition: Report taken.

2:09 p.m. Auto accident with no injuries or property damage reported at police station. Occurred sometime yesterday. Disposition: Report taken.

6:42 p.m. Verbal peace disturbance at business on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Reporting party is requesting an officer escort a female who is refusing to leave the business. Subject is possibly under the influence or has been drinking. Disposition: Arrest made.

11:18 p.m. Burglary of an inhabited residence on East "J" Street. Occurred about 5 minutes ago. Reporting party's side door was kicked in and someone started a fire in the doorway; no subjects are currently on scene. The fire was found to be a dog food bag, filled with feces, which was set on fire on the door step. Disposition: Assignment completed.

Oct. 5, 2013

7:45 p.m. Auto accident with no injuries or property damage on Broome Road. Disposition: Turned over.

10:31 p.m. Auto accident with no injuries and property damage at business on Tucker Road. Disposition: No further action required.

Oct. 6, 2013

2:01 a.m. Assault at North Mojave Street/East "H" Street. Reporting party and her friend were just jumped. Disposition: Report taken.

2:24 a.m. Burglary report on Oakwood Street. Reporting party was gone since yesterday morning. Front door and bedroom doors were kicked in. Lock box and Xbox were taken. Disposition: Report taken.

7:33 p.m. Suspicious circumstances on Aspen Drive. Heard multiple subjects yelling, started beating on the door, attempting to gain entry. Subject also broke the living room window. Unknown if subjects are still in the area. Reporting party is in her room. Disposition: Arrest made.

Oct. 7, 2013

1:15 a.m. Traffic stop at Fir Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Oct. 4, 2013

10:10 a.m. Fire at golf course on North Lower Valley Road. Small grass fire on the driving range. Disposition: Assisted.

11:26 a.m. Shots fired, heard on San Juan Drive. Disposition: Unable to locate.

1:12 p.m. Major traffic accident at Plateau Court/Bear Valley Road. One vehicle overturned. Disposition: Report taken.

1:35 p.m. Fire on Fawn Way. Small grass fire in the same area as the first. Disposition: Assisted.

Oct. 5, 2013

1:22 p.m. Fire at Jacks Hill Road/Comanche Point Road in residential area. Disposition: Assisted.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Officers responded to 42 incidents between Oct. 4 and 7.

Oct. 5, 2013

12:04 p.m. Vandalism at Vaquero Drive in Golden Hills.

11:17 p.m. Drunk in public on Schout Road/Woodford-Tehachapi Road.

Oct. 6, 2013

2:18 a.m. Petty theft at Cummings Valley Road/Bailey Road.

For the period Oct. 1 through Oct. 5, four arrests were reported, as follows:

Brian Joseph McDaniel was arrested on felony charges of spousal abuse, threats to commit a crime, possession of ammunition despite being prohibited from owning a firearm.

David Brian Smith was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence.

Darnell Oliver was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a place of sale or use of controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

Seth Adam MacCauley was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and destroying or concealing evidence.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.


The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachapi area:

This afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Sunny, with a high near 68. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with an east wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. West southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday morning, with lows reaching the mid-30s and highs not peaking above 65 the rest of the week.

• The Tehachapi City Council will meet Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St. Items on the agenda include appointing a commissioner to the Airport Commission. View the full agenda HERE.

• The next Airport Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Pilot's Lounge, 314 N. Hayes St. The commissioners will discuss a potential commercial enterprise and an expansion on the north side. Read the full agenda HERE.
