Tehachapi Police Department:

Feb. 18, 2014

10:46 a.m. Battery. Occurred at The Village Apartments on North Mill Street. Disposition: Arrest Made.

6:25 p.m. Driving under the influence of alcohol. Occurred at Highline Road and Tucker Road. Possible 23152 westbound on Highline Road. Truck with lights on top of the cab seen weaving back and forth. Disposition: Turn over to other agency.

6:34 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc. Occurred on Apple Way. Barking dog at this location is ongoing problem. Disposition: Advised.

Feb. 19, 2014

12:45 a.m. Traffic Stop. Officer initiated activity at Highway 58 and North Mill Street. Disposition: Arrest made.

Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

Feb. 18, 2014

9:03 a.m. Traffic stop. Officer initiated activity at Cummings Valley Road and Bear Valley Road. Disposition: Warning (Cite/Verbal).

9:14 a.m. Fire. Occurred on Highway 58 eastbound. Reporting person sees smoke, west of Broome Road, near the old west ranch. Transferred caller to ECC. Disposition: Checks Ok.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Feb. 18 and the morning of Feb. 19, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 16 incidents, including a petty theft investigation on Loumas Lane and a grand theft investigation in Golden Hills.

Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.

California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Windy, with a west northwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 5 to 15 mph after midnight.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. East southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Calm wind.

Ernest Troost, award-winning singer-songwriter is playing at Fiddlers Crossing on Saturday, Feb. 22, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.

A Company of Wayward Saints at the Beekay Theatre on Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. A performance on Sunday, Feb. 23 begins at 2 p.m.

Ballroom Dancing at West Park Activities Center every Monday, starting Feb. 24. Beginners classes start start at 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Intermediate classes go from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Classes cost $50 per person for six one-hour classes.

• The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District's next board meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the district's headquarters, 490 West "D" St.

• The Tehachapi Cummings County Water District's next board meeting is  Wednesday, Feb 19. 4 p.m. at 22901 Banducci Rd.

• The Golden Hills Community Services Distrct's next board meeting is slated for Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the district's headquarters, 21415 Reeves St.
