The latest news - Two unrelated accidents on Highway 58 closed lanes and slowed traffic. One resulted in no injuries, but the other sent one driver to the hospital via Mercy Air. READ the story. AND...Community Development Director David James notified the Tehachapi News yesterday that the Planning Commission meeting on Sept. 23 in which the board was to discuss the pending Walmart project and its revised Environmental Impact Report has been postponed to a later date, yet to be announced. Sept. 4, 2013
11:39 a.m. Petty theft of less than $400 reported on W. "E" St. Someone stole front vehicle tire, although gate is locked and car is off the alley. Disposition: Report taken.
3:58 p.m. Major traffic accident on East Tehachapi Boulevard. Two vehicles involved, one subject is not moving. Collision located about 400 feet west of Exit 151. Disposition: Report taken. NOTE: TPD officials later reported one child suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
11:48 p.m. Pedestrian check on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Disposition: Arrest made.
Sept. 5, 2013
12:18 a.m. Shots fired/heard at South Mill Street/West "A" Street. One shotgun shot was heard. Disposition: Unable to locate.

Sept. 5, 2013
8:09 a.m. Burglary report on Columbia Court. Cell phone has been missing since Labor Day; reporting party has suspended the line. Disposition: Report taken.
Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Nothing reported.
Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.
California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.

This afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 90. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

• Due to a lack of agenda items, the Tehachapi City Council will not hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, but will instead adjourn until Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Beekay Theatre, 110 S. Green St. One item to be discussed is a proposed spending plan for funds received by the city under Government Code section 30061, the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund.
• The Tehachapi Unified School Distrcit Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 10, at the Claude Wells Education Center, 300 S. Robinson St.
• Directors of the Bear Valley Community Services District will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 12, at the CSD building, 28999 S. Lower Valley Road.
