The latest news - A Tehachapi man was arrested this weekend after he carried a firearm wrapped in a blanket into the Tehachapi Hospital. Richard M. Martinez was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm in a public building, public intoxication, and obstructing a police officer. Read HERE.

Jan. 31, 2014
7:20 a.m. Petty theft report. Occurred on South Mill Street. Cellular E911 Call: brother broke into the house and stole his wallet, past occurred. Service Class: W911. Disposition: Report taken.
2:45 p.m. Assault report. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Reporting person is the ICU doctor at KMC, she advised she has in the ICU with extensive head injuries, occurred on the 22nd in town (inc# 140122063), advising the scan results are not consistent with a fall or accident. . Disposition: Information only.
Feb. 1, 2014
2:34 p.m. Suspicious circumstances. Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East "F" Street. Subjects in a black Camaro are chasing the subject, possibly upset over the loss of his brother's wallet, LS north bound on Robinson Street from the Police department. Reporting person standing by wearing a black beanie in front of the police department, DPis now coming back toward the reporting person on Robinson Street. Disposition: Advised.
9:31 p.m. Suspicious person. Occurred at Tehachapi Hospital on West "E" Street. Hispanic male adult HBD walked into the lobby restroom with a rifle, wearing a grey sweater, jeans and now just walked out of the hospital . Subject is in his 20s, early 30s with a beer in his hand. He stated that today was his birthday and wanted to know what time the reporting person got off. Disposition: Arrest Made. NOTES: Arrestee is Michael Richard Martinez, 21, Tehachapi, convicted felon on probation. Charges: Possession of a Firearm in a Public Building, Public Intoxication, & Obstructing an Officer.

9:48 p.m. Battery. Occurred at Summit Christian Fellowship on South Curry Street. Male subject named____ hit the reporting person in the face with both hands. Subject left going south on Curry, wearing jeans and a grey sweatshirt driving a lowered pu possible Chev mini pu lowered and a camper, rp stated he did not want medical attention and that the dp had been advised on prior occasions to not come to the building. Disposition: Arrest Made. NOTE: Arrestee is Daneil Richard Wahlmeier, 56, Tehachapi, Private Person’s Arrest for Misdemeanor Battery.
Bear Valley Springs Police Department:

8:19 a.m. Property damage. Occurred at Skyline Drive and Cottonwood Court. Cellular E911 Call: Lat:35.136595 Lon:-118.63685. Service Class: WPH2 / Jeep has knocked over the fire hydrant at this location and is sitting on top of it. Disposition: Report taken.
3:26 p.m. Reckless driving. Occurred at Gate on Bear Valley Road. Vehicle was tailgating, vehicle is west bound into bv. Disposition: Unable to locate.
3:46 p.m. Property damage. Officer initiated activity at San Juan Drive and Bear Valley Road.Green box appears to have possibly been ran over. Disposition: Information only .
Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation: Between Jan. 31 and the morning of Feb. 3, the Kern County Sheriff's Department responded to 48 incidents, including a burglary investigation, a criminal threats investigation, and spousal battery investigation. All three were in Golden Hills.
Stallion Springs Police Department: Nothing reported.
California Highway Patrol: Nothing reported.
