The latest news - Two Tehachapi men were arrested early Monday morning and charged with discharging a laser at an occupied airplane. One of the men was additionally charged with Possession of Controlled Substance for Sales, and Maintaining a Drug House. HERE.

May 2, 2014

6:44 a.m. Petty theft report, occurred on Peach Blossom Lane, multiple items taken from house last night. Disposition: Report taken.

8:04 a.m. Vandalism against person or property of another, report taken at Tehachapi Police Department. Disposition: Information only.

8:19 a.m. Fire, occurred at Highway/North Mill Street, small brush fire near the Mill Street exit. Disposition: Assisted.

9:33 a.m. Vehicle repossession, occurred on West "E" Street, owners not aware of repossession. Disposition: Report taken.

9:50 a.m. Vandalism report, occurred on Alan Avenue, fence on the north side of the reporting party's property. Disposition: Report taken.

10:02 a.m. Suspicious circumstances, occurred on East "I" Street. Two subjects keep riding bikes up and down street, looking into reporting party's yard. Disposition: Arrest made, warrant.

10:28 a.m. Suspicious circumstances, occurred at South Curry Street/West Valley Boulevard. City crew notice a bike in the backyard of an abandoned house on the North/West corner. Unknown if subjects are inside. Disposition: Assignment completed.

2:09 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, possible sex abuse of 11 year old male at the residence and in Santa Clarita. Disposition: Referred to other agency.

3:07 p.m. Burglary report, occurred on Golden West Court, reporting party believes someone has attempted to gain entry to her shed, nothing appears to have been taken. Disposition: Information only.

3:40 p.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Spruce Street. Disposition: No further action required.

4:12 p.m. Snake, occurred at South Davis Street/East "E" Street. Baby rattlesnake at bus stop at entrance to City Park between Wells School and park on "E" Street. Disposition: Unable to locate.

4:29 p.m. Trespassing, occurred at Kmart on West Tehachapi Boulevard. Disposition: Arrest made.

4:32 p.m. Snake, occurred at Mountain Aire Estates on South Dennison Road. Approximate 3 foot long snake, unknown type on side of house. Disposition: Assignment completed.

5:06 p.m. Spousal abuse report, report taken at Tehachapi Police Department. Disposition: No criminal activity.

9:32 p.m. Peace disturbance, music, occurred on Kelton Street, loud music coming from residence. Disposition: Warning (cite/verbal).

11:43 p.m. Any civil problem, occurred on West "E" Street, ex-husband refused to leave the property and is looking thought windows. Subject left the area on a bicycle in an unknown direction. Disposition: Report taken.

May 3, 2014

3:53 a.m. Drunk in public, occurred on South Mill Street. Unknown white male adult wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Disposition: Warning (cite/verbal).

4:43 a.m. Suspicious person, occurred at Save Mart, male subject refusing to leave the area. Subject is in front of the main entrance  wearing blue jeans and  a plaid shirt. Subject appears mentally disturbed. Disposition: Checks ok.

6:49 a.m. Peace disturbance music, occurred on East "J" Street, loud music coming from that address. Disposition: Assignment completed.

7:06 a.m. Vandalism against person or property of another, occurred on Brentwood Drive, reporting party's window was shot sometime during the night. Disposition: Report taken.

10:59 a.m. Annoying phone calls, occurred on Acacia Court, reporting party's brother-in-law is continually calling from  that address threatening violence to the reporting party and her husband. Disposition: Assignment completed.

12:16 p.m. Drunk in public, occurred at Kohnen’s Country Bakery, white male adult subject wearing green flannel shirt, jeans, subject is possibly 5150 and disturbing customers, believe is also possibly having seizures. Disposition: Arrest made.

4:10 p.m. Assault with deadly weapon, occurred on Mid Way. Disposition: Negative contact.

4:33 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc., occurred on Beech Street, ongoing barking dog across the street from the reporting party, reporting party has attempted to speak to the owner who then became verbally combative with them. Disposition: Negative Ccontact.

7:12 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, occurred at Pinon Street/Elm Street, subject is chasing juveniles on dirt bikes in the dirt field in the area. Disposition: Gone on arrival.

8:10 p.m. Vicious, barking, bite, etc., occurred on Brentwood Drive, reporting party was advised not to call 9-1-1 for barking dogs. Disposition: Advised.

8:28 p.m. Keep the peace, occurred on West Valley Boulevard. Child exchange. Disposition: Assignment completed.

May 4, 2014

12:16 a.m. Peace disturbance music, occurred at The Village Apartments, reporting party has attempted to handle directly with no success. Disposition: Advised.

3:18 a.m. Disturbing the peace, occurred on Pine Court, cellular 911 call: advised son, possibly wearing blue jeans and a red jacket, was assaulted with a deadly weapon by unknown subjects in front of the residence, son came into the residence got a knife and then left unknown dot or destination. Disposition: Unable to locate.

2 p.m. Peace disturbance, music, occurred on East "J" Street, music from truck across the street. Disposition: Unable to locate.

2:30 p.m. Warrant service, officer initiated activity on "I "Street. Disposition: Assisted.

2:42 p.m. Trespassing, occurred on East "H" Street. Reporting party saw someone inside a vacant residence closing the curtain. Disposition: Arrest made.

6:10 p.m. Threats death/bodily injured, occurred on Fawn Way, reporting party gave third hand information, stating her grandparents on Fawn Way are being threatened that her brother is in possession of a loaded firearm, threatening to kill grandparents. Subject is possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Disposition: Arrest made.

9:18 p.m. Suspicious circumstances, occurred at Tehachapi Airport Industrial Park on North Green Street, unknown person was pointing a green laser pointer at reporting party's air plane while he was landing. Disposition: Report taken.

• The Multiple Sclerosis support group will meet Thursday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Tehachapi Moose Lodge, located at 123 W. “F” St.

• The Stallion Springs Property Owner's Association will also host its annual Round Up and Flea Market the following weekend on Saturday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Community Center. Set up will commence at 7 a.m.

• The Friends of the Tehachapi Library will host a big book sale event Wednesday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

• The Tehachapi Heritage League is sponsoring "Kids Day at the Museum" at the Tehachapi Museum in conjunction with National Museum Day on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• The 8th annual Combat Hapkido self-defense seminar for men, women and teens ages 13 and up will be held Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Tehachapi Martial Arts Center, located at 20418 Brian Way, Suite 6.

• The Tehachapi Martial Arts Center will host the Defense Against a Bully class Friday, May 16, from 5 to 6 p.m.

• The Arts, Science & Technology Education Corporation of Tehachapi (AST) is sponsoring the 2014 Tehachapi Intermediate Space Challenge for Tehachapi 4th and 5th graders at the Tehachapi Municipal Airport on May 21, from 10 a.m. To 12:30 p.m.

• Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District will present the Tehachapi Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade on May 26, at 10:15 a.m.  The line up begins at 9 a.m. at Kmart and the parade finishes at Philip Marx Park, Mojave and "D" Street.

• The Catholic Daughters will be holding their Spring Rummage sale on Friday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in McMullan Hall at St. Malachy Catholic Church, located at 407 W. "E" St.


• The Tehachapi Business Watch information meeting, Thursday, May 8, at 6 p.m., at the Claude L. Wells Education Center, located at 300 S. Robinson St.

• Smart Growth-Tehachapi Valley will host a special water meeting, "Our Water Situation," Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Moose Lodge, located at the corner "F" and Curry Streets.
